Taste of Belgium is a restaurant group of Belgian-inspired eateries. We take traditional Belgian recipes and we twist them; we take American classics and we Belgianize them. We believe elegant cuisine can be served with a down-to-earth attitude and humble foods can be served elegantly. We take the food we create and the service we provide very seriously, but not ourselves. Waffles, Chicken, Beer. Eat Like a Belgian, Drink Like a Belgian, Live Like a Belgian!
This market stand serves sweet & savory Belgian waffles & crêpes plus artisanal-roasted coffees.

Today, we got to go to Findlay Market and while we were there we saw the establishment, Taste of Belgium. This place was recommended to me by one of my friends who lives near here as I’m from another state. We wanted to order sandwiches and desserts off their menu, but we were told they no longer serve sandwiches. For us, this was a bit of a let down and I would suggest updating the menu to reflect only those items that are available for purchase. We left to go buy sandwiches from another place, but returned to buy lemon cheesecakes, frosted oatmeal cookie, snickerdoodle cookie, peanut butter cookie and a buckeye. My friend also purchased other cookies and she made the comment that the person behind the counter acted like he didn’t want to be there. He also didn’t talk very clearly. Another patron was raving about all the desserts and said everything was good. I ate the cheesecake and it was good, however it was not very lemony. I’ve eaten the snickerdoodle and it is good but each of these items have been lacking the main ingredient flavour. Having said this, I would definitely return to try other items if I lived in this area. I wanted to try their waffles, but I am already on carbohydrate overload.

They heated up the breakfast quiche for me, and it was life changing! I should have bought one to go, huge slice for $6. Also got a delicious muffin and they warmed that up for me. Was super intrigued with the speciality “glazed” waffles- almost got one. They have lots of options in general I believe. For a drink we got coffee. They have numerous locations.

I went with a friend and we each had a crepe. I had the savory and my friend had the traditional. Mine was delicious and had no shortage of warm, yummy goat cheese. We split a strawberry and cream waffle. Also wonderful! The service was as fast as it could be when you are making crepes from scratch. We ate at the little red tables at Findlay Market. It was perfect!

The poor folks working here have too much to do. Why is there pizza on the menu? Do they really need to offer sandwiches? Just do waffles crepes and coffee.

I highly recommend Taste of Belgium at Findlay Market. We host food tours and bring dozens of guest there on a weekly basis. Jacqueline Umberg and the staff are so professional, hardworking and friendly! The locals on the tour even remark about how delicious the waffles taste right out of the waffle maker. Jacqueline and the staff really go the extra mile to give each customer a first class experience!

The waffle was good. Service was not… The man that served us was not friendly or polite…they served one of the crêpe 10 min after the other we ordered so it was barely warm.

Jean-Francois Flechet moved from Belgium to US to work on his doctorate. While with a market research company in Cincinnati he started frequenting Findlay Market. A decade ago, he started trying recipes for Belgian Waffles in an attempt to make them taste like those he ate as a child in Belgium, in a stand at Madison’s at the market. They were an instant sensation, so in February 2008 he moved to his own stand inside Findlay. Rest is history. Try the waffles with banana and Nutella – our favorite.

Ordered a lemon cheesecake and it was very disappointing. It was rubbery and old, and came with a free gnat! Which sadly I didn’t discover until a few bites in. It was gross and I’ll never get it again.

Had the most decadent, mouth watering dessert here. The Belgian Chocolate Torte is well worth it, and the perfect taste to end your food adventure on.
