I love this place so much. The food is consistently great, and is the most authentic Mexican cuisine I’ve found in Wilmington. The service is always excellent, and I love the music they play too. I typically get al pastor tacos, and their rice and beans are incredible.

Basic Mexican restaurant environment, with delicious food! I had the fajita quesadilla with shrimp as my protein and it did not disappoint. The cheese was plentiful and beautifully melted with the shrimp, onions and peppers. The tortilla was perfectly crisp to hold the contents all together. It came with rice, beans, sour cream, lettuce and Pico de gallo. Decent meal for just under $18 and I had leftovers that I ate the next morning. The next time I’m back in Wilmington, I’ll be going back to Taqueria Los Portales. I definitely recommend it!

I love the food here! The tacos are amazing. I usually get steak tacos or fish tacos. The guacamole dip was fresh, queso dip was good. The toppings/ salsa bar is great. I love the fresh cilantro and there is a green sauce that is incredible! The staff do not speak much English but they manage to get my order. This is one of my favorite dinner spots.

Solid place , not many choices here in this area but I have zero complaints. I love their beef cheek quesadillas, tender and super flavorful. Very nice people, great service and atmosphere for the Kerr location.

Los Portales is a favorite when I’m in Wilmington. The Cubano Torta is a must, if you’re familiar with a Cuban sandwich, you get the idea. However it has some excellent additions, including avocado slices and a marinade is involved. It’s the one to get! Guac is excellent.

It is hard to find authentic Mexican food this far from Mexico but I think this is an easy exception to that rule.
There is seating, but I chose to take out. Small language barrier perhaps but definitely worth the culture shock. The food is above and beyond your average taco spot. Be warned the entrance doesn’t have a lot of room for lines so you might have to stand outside I’m all waiting to order. Don’t let that stop you, this place is fantastic!

Very good real Mexican food! Everything was well put together, served hot and very filling. I enjoy their tortas and tacos. This is not your typical “authentic mexican food” place, this is motherland quality food. So don’t expect to come in here and have chips and fake salsa served. Their food always comes out with top notch flavor. Their dressing station is also nicely maintained with choices of 4 different salsas, cut up radishes, onions, cilantro and other toppings. Their prices are not steep either.

It seems like a very popular place. Too busy today they forgot our orders too lol. We came at lunch time and it’s packed. We got, this, I forgot the name lol, a sandwich type dish. Dishes are very greasy. I wasn’t too used to this much oil.
