There is a little salsa bar with fresh cilantro, onions, limes, red salsa, green salsa, and pico de gallo.
Gracias chef!!
When we arrived it wasn’t busy so we ordered our food to dine in. I will mention that the restaurant gets hot especially when it’s hot outside. They had one door open so there was a slight breeze but not much.
The lady at the counter was nice and asked if we had any questions. I ordered a chicken taco, a shrimp taco, rice, refined beans and street corn. My husband ordered chips and guacamole, chicken taco and a beef taco.
The chips were delicious . The tacos were seasoned well and great as well. I loved the rice and refined beans. All the food taste authentic and good.
My only complaint will be the street corn. I took one bite and knew something was off. It taste like the corn may be spoiled or old. That’s the only thing that I would not buy again.
Overall we enjoyed ourselves, we will definitely be back but next time we’ll pick up the food and not dine in.
The birria tacos had good flavor, but I was really disappointed by the amount of cartilage and fat in the meat. It created a chewy, unpleasant texture that I couldn’t ignore.
The pulled chicken quesadilla was also a letdown. The tortilla was extremely soft with way too much cheese, and the packaging made everything melt together and stick, making it impossible to separate or eat properly. By the time we opened it at home, it was sloppy, soggy, and unpleasant to eat. I ended up reheating it just to crisp the tortilla enough to enjoy it.
With the chicken burrito, I specifically asked for sautéed peppers and onions inside the burrito, but the veggies were put on the side instead.
I’m a repeat customer, and this isn’t what I’m used to from this restaurant, though I did have a similar issue with the quesadilla the last time. Please consider making some improvements for pickup orders, because this food isn’t cheap and every order should go out with the same level of quality.
Not trying to bash anyone, I’ve had good meals here before, and I genuinely enjoy the family-owned experience. I’ll be back at some point, I’m just hoping for better consistency.
Unique specials on rotation in addition to a large regular menu. Gringoes beware the menudo!!! Not for the those with a weak stomach lol
Their birria tacos are usually only available on the weekends. They were very, very good! Great portion for the price. In fact, their entire menu seems to be very fairly priced, and they are generous with everything. The tacos themselves weren’t the best birria I ever had, but they were still very good. Lots of meat and cheese stuffed within them (3 tacos per order). The shell of the taco is somewhat wimpy and not that flavorful, but the consommé and stuffing on the inside more than make up for that.
The consommé was some of the best I’ve had. Actually, this consommé is more like a soup than just a dip. It has bits of shredded beef, chickpeas (which were delicious), and a hearty broth for dipping. The tacos are way better with this. It’s the perfect amount of salty and savory. Absolutely huge portion!!
Finally, I also really enjoyed their tres leches cake. I’m pretty sure they make this in house. It was well soaked through and the perfect amount of sweetness. Probably one of the better tres leches in the area. Topped with a little fruit as well.
All in all, this is a great new spot. I’m glad I got to try it out. They make the food efficiently and the people are relatively friendly, but the inside is quite small. The food is definitely worth giving a shot, especially given the value.
