Not a big burger person but this place is soooo good! The Black and White Shake is a great combo with the city classic and fries. The fries have the perfect amount of salt on them, never soggy and never burned. The city classic is a great burger, the meat is always perfectly cooked, juicy and patties are the right size – not too big and not too small. Every time i go the staff are super polite, helpful and cook the food super quickly! Love everything about this place!!

I don’t really go out for burgers but I like coming to this place. The burgers tastes like how they are supposed to be, authentic and fresh. The fries are not too salty nor that low and it adds a kick with their sauce. It is a very clean place and they are open to criticism to improve their business. Service is top notch! Well done crew!

The burgers are on point and the price is pretty reasonable. The burgers look kinda small at first glance, but it is the perfect portion. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because they aren’t the BEST burgers I’ve ever had. The bacon is also nice and crispy, not soft and flabby. The shakes are pretty good; a bit above average. I’d prefer the fries to be a bit thinner, but they were pretty good regardless. Ask for a side of the green chile sauce and mix it with their city sauce. Delicious!

Holy smokes! Got a city classic & fries to go as a quick dinner and was super surprised with the quality & price. Big, juicy burger & a heap of perfectly cooked fries for just a little more than what you would pay for a standard fast food burger. The, “City Sauce” was great, too. Highly recommended!

Great burgers and delicious fries. Reasonable prices. Excellent place to get some higher quality fast food burgers and fries. Got some great mayo, City Sauce, as they call it. The fried green beans are also a nice change from just regular fries.

I had wanted Baja Fresh for the salsa bar for dinner but there aren’t any in Bethesda and luckily I remembered this place I walked by a week ago, City Burger. I ordered the City Burger and City Fries and loved them both!
The burger was well priced at $5.25 and the fries were $3.15 and delicious.
The burger was excellently fresh and was big enough to be satisfying without overstuffing. I really liked the small wrapper the burger came in because it let me eat it and still keep my hands clean. I dislike eating a meal and having my hands smell of food.
It turns out that City Burger is owned/operated by the same group as Food Wine &Co. That alone was a good endorsement before I tried it and I wasn’t disappointed.
City Burger is a great addition to Bethesda!

What a Burger!

I’ve been a solid believer in BGR The Burger Joint, but my latest trip to City Burger may have just changed my mind…

Pros:
+The signature City Burger is delicious. The City Sauce (mayo and Sriracha) is really tasty with a special little kick.
+Really cheap; only $8 for burger, fries, and soda
+Milkshakes and Frozen Custard for Dessert
+Indoor and outdoor seating options
+Hip and modern atmosphere. Very casual

Cons:
-Drinks are just going to be your basic options
-Lots of grease. Not the healthy Bethesda restaurant you’d expect.

Not many cons because this was the perfect place for lunch with friends on a snowy day. Hope it will stick around!

Edit: This place has vastly improved since I first tried it. Way to go! The only suggestion I’d make is it would be a really nice touch to have the custard served in something other than a plain plastic cup.

Old Review: Not bad, but not good. I think this place is trying to be a spinoff of Good Stuff Eatery — their logo and menu are very similar — but so far isn’t doing a very good job. The burger was very “meh”, the fries didn’t have anything remarkable about them, and the chocolate shake was just like a Wendy’s Frosty. There were lots of little things to indicate the owernship/management doesn’t have a lot of experience with this kind of restaurant: the chocolate shake was served in a plain Dixie cup, there weren’t any self-serve condiments, the service was slow and I could hear the manager explaining to the cooks how to make the food. So far, the only thing this place really has going for it is the location. It may be worth trying again in a few months once City Burger has settled in, but until then there isn’t much to make me come back.

These guys have got it down. I’ve tried 2 of the burgers here and they’re delicious. The service was good and they even have a special sauce aside from the usual ketchup available for your fries at no extra charge.
