This absolute gem hides inside the 7 Days Food Store & gas station, which means you’ve probably driven right past it before. Next time? Don’t. If taqueria tacos are sacred to you—tacos so properly made you could swear they were cooked in Mexico and airlifted straight into your hands—this is your answer.
The moment I walked in, the legendary Vicente Fernández was belting out “A Mi Manera” on a huge TV, and a kind woman in the kitchen handed me a menu written almost entirely in Spanish. It was then I knew I had come to the right place.
Let me be clear: they have twenty-two taco options. Not five, not seven. Twenty. Two. Some of them you’ve probably never even heard of unless you’ve actually eaten street tacos in Mexico.
I ordered suadero, cabeza, chorizo, and al pastor, and as someone who has lived in California and Texas—actual border states—I’ve been yearning for even the slightest resemblance to the Mexican food from there for YEARS living here in Pinellas, and I can say with utmost confidence that Alegria Latina absolutely crushes it with flying colors of red, white, and green.
Washed it all down with a giant styrofoam cup of house-made horchata served with a ladle, and my lunch was a near religious experience, with the lingering scent of flour tortilla and lime on my hand reminding me that I must return again very, very soon.

Best tacos in Clearwater I promise . It’s in a gas station but don’t let that deter you the food is amazing and the quality and quantity is great. There’s a Mexican restaurant in the same plaza, which sells OK tacos but if you want the best, get it from inside the convenience store.
