In general the service done by the two guys is good, the atmosphere is good, the tables are alwyas nicely set up, but today we had a different experience. When a loyal customers say the food was not as always it means something is off , and they expect an listening ear not a careless waitress who tells them the opposite with her “usual” attitude and zero apologies. The image of a restaurant starts with a good customer service providers.

This place is one of the celebrations spots we like to eat at in the south suburbs. I live 15 minutes from Devon Ave in Chicago, so I feel like I know what Indian food is good and tasty. This place hasn’t disappointed us ever.
A favorite amontnourbgroup is the Korma Chicken. The tandoori chicken is good, naan is good. It’s all good. My personal favorite is a vegetable dish with okra whose name escapes me. When I asked what was happening this weekend, the wife said birthday luncheon at Tandoori House. I was like oh awesome, I love that place, but then I said man I wish they had a buffet. Imagine my surprise today that they have a buffet now. Of our party of 5, 4 got the buffet, and the birthday girl couldn’t pass up on that chicken Korma. I ate too much at the buffet. But it was fantastic. They said it was just 2 weeks ago that it started. So happy birthday to me! Honestly the price was compatible to getting a dish and rice and a naan, so I think you’ll be pleased to have a new thing here.

This is my favorite Indian restaurant! Anytime I go someplace else, I regret it. The food is amazing. So rich and flavorful. Customer service is great. The guy that takes the phone orders is always pleasant and polite. Dine in service is good as well. Highly recommended!!!

Very disappointed. Phone line was busy so I placed an online order from “order from the restaurant” and ended up being overcharged $14.00!!! Waited an additional 15 min for my food order. The food was just ok. Would not recommend ( and I am a big fan of Indian food)

So, for starters, this was a GrubHub Delivery, and yes it’s on New Year’s Eve. Just getting that out of the way.

So, we originally ordered food for 4:45pm. Without any notification or communication, our order was canceled. So we had to call and re-order our food. Our food was marked for delivery by 6:45pm.. then pushed back to 7:30pm.. then pushed back AGAIN to 8:30pm. No calls, no texts, no form of communication at all. Grubhub wouldn’t take responsibility for their drivers.. and Tandoori wouldn’t take responsibility for their side of things, aside from a verbal apology for a 25-30 minute delay on their end. 6:45 + 30 minutes is still only 7:15.. and they added on another hour. (currently it’s 8:25pm and still no food)

This is also not the first time it has happened, BUT it will be the last it happens for us. The food is nice, but not nice enough to be worth this kind of headache. Order at your own risk.

A Flavorful Indian Feast at Tandoori House!

Tandoori House Indian Cuisine offers an authentic Indian dining experience, bringing together rich spices, smoky tandoori flavors, and comforting curries. Our visit was delightful, with an impressive selection of dishes that showcased the depth and variety of Indian cuisine.

Overall Ratings:
Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ (4.5/5)
‍ Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)
Atmosphere: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)

The Food – A Spiced & Aromatic Experience!

Every dish was beautifully prepared, featuring bold flavors and satisfying textures. Here’s a breakdown of our meal:

Chicken Tandoori – A Smoky Delight!

The Chicken Tandoori arrived sizzling hot, served on a bed of onions with a fresh lemon wedge. The meat was perfectly marinated with a blend of yogurt, garlic, ginger, and traditional Indian spices, giving it a rich and smoky flavor. The outside was slightly charred, while the inside remained juicy and tender.

A must-try for those who love smoky, spiced grilled chicken!

Chicken Masala – Creamy, Spiced, & Irresistible!

The Chicken Masala was a standout! The thick, rich, and creamy tomato-based sauce had a deep, earthy flavor with just the right amount of spice. The tender chunks of chicken absorbed the sauce beautifully, making every bite silky, flavorful, and satisfying. This dish paired perfectly with naan bread, soaking up all that buttery, aromatic gravy.

✔️ Smooth, velvety, and full of warm, comforting spices—perfect for anyone who loves Indian curries!

Chicken Tikka – Juicy & Boldly Spiced!

The Chicken Tikka was packed with deep, smoky spices and had a perfectly charred texture. Each bite was succulent, well-marinated, and bursting with bold flavors. The balance of spices, yogurt marinade, and grilling technique made this dish a clear winner.

A great choice for those who love grilled meats with intense flavor!

Lamb Biryani – Fragrant & Flavorful!

The Lamb Biryani was cooked to perfection. Each grain of basmati rice was light, fluffy, and infused with saffron and warm Indian spices. The lamb was tender and juicy, blending seamlessly with the rice. The flavors had depth and complexity, with hints of cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon.

✅ Aromatic, rich, and absolutely satisfying!

Chicken Biryani – A Flavorful Rice Dish!

The Chicken Biryani was another winner! The spices were layered beautifully, giving the rice a deep and complex flavor. The chicken was moist and perfectly cooked, making this dish hearty, fragrant, and incredibly delicious.

✔️ Great for those who enjoy a slightly milder biryani with just the right amount of spice!

Naan Bread – Soft, Fluffy, & Perfect for Dipping!

The naan bread was freshly baked, soft on the inside, with a slight crisp on the edges. It was the perfect complement to the rich Chicken Masala and Biryani dishes. Whether dipped in the creamy sauce or used to scoop up flavorful rice, the naan elevated every bite.

✔️ Light, airy, and slightly charred—an essential part of the meal!

‍ Service – Friendly but a Bit Slow!

The service was polite and welcoming, and the staff was knowledgeable about the menu. However, the wait time was a little longer than expected, especially when it came to drink refills. That said, they remained attentive and professional, ensuring that everything was served fresh and hot.

Atmosphere – Cozy & Traditional! ✨

The restaurant had warm lighting, traditional Indian décor, and a relaxed ambiance. It was a comfortable space to enjoy a hearty meal, though it could feel a bit crowded during peak hours.

✔️ A cozy and inviting place to enjoy authentic Indian cuisine!

⭐ Final Verdict – A Must-Visit for Indian Food Lovers!

✅ Food: Rich, bold, and expertly seasoned—each dish was full of authentic flavors!
✅ Service: Friendly and knowledgeable, but slightly slow.
✅ Ambience: Warm and inviting, though it can get busy.

Traveled from downtown Chicago to try this place. Hands down, they have the best Chicken Makhani (reminds me of butter chicken) which is absolutely fantastic. Chicken Briyani, also great. But definitely will forever crave Chicken Makhani from now on
Staff is also amazing, welcoming, & run a very clean house inside.

This was the first time that I have been at Tandoori and I will say that I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was good but quiet which makes it a bit of uncomfortable to talk out loud. The server was kind and attentive but the food take a long time to come out. There was only one person taking dine-in orders and additional person would help with pick-up orders which is a management issue for having two employees on a Sunday afternoon. Apart from that, amazing food, service was amazing and was attentive and would definitely come back!
