This place is a real hidden gem! They’ve been here since 1940. If you are looking for a high end, snooty spot, this is NOT it. This place transports you back in time where everything is cooked to order with love and attention. We lucked out this trip and caught it when it was pretty empty (filled up right after we were seated though). The food was wonderful! Sorry, I would’ve taken more pictures, but got caught up in eating! I got a side of wings added to my meal because they are just that good! No pomp and circumstance here, just good ole food with a flare of the past.

This is the worst breakfast cafe far as customer service. They good old people taking orders and u also will wait almost 2 hours to receive your food. They move very slow that’s because the 1 cook they do have is cooking 1 order at a time. Don’t go there if u in a hurry

It was either Tal’s or Moby’s, later The Flava Table for me. Tal”s had the better chicken wings in my opinion. Last time I was there was like 2yrs ago. The OG cook at there no more so it tasted a lil different

When I say YUM!! I mean YUM !! Sooooo….I’ve moved back to L.A. and this was thee first place I came to eat. It tastes just as good now as it did back in the day. I got the pork chops, grits, French toast, hasbrowns and eggs !! Yes!!! Alllll that !! Because this food is that good and I wanted my faves !! The cook is in the kitchen serving up hot and delicious food….like you wished you made at home. Small and cozy so plan on a wait…but the waitress is friendly and attentive. Just be patient. It’s WORTH THE WAIT !!! I may see ya there !!

Well let me say the waitress was friendly but it took a long time for her to take our order. The hash browns were nasty the eggs was nasty they lied on the menu i order a wing & egg breakfast & received drumettes lol wth wings aren’t drumettes now they were seasoned & good BUT FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!! the place was hot as hell & its gloomy in there no light depressing atmosphere!! But my granddaughter did say the pancakes were delicious so i guess if you want great pancakes in a gloomy atmosphere this is where its at.

Tal’s Cafe has been around for 83 years as of 2023 (established in 1940). That alone should tell you something. The pork chop breakfast is delish. 2 decent size chops, well-breaded and fried.

Tal’s is an “Old School” Cafe that doesn’t have all of the “Bells and Whistles” but what is does have is “Good Old Fashion Food.” I had pancakes, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs and grits that reminded me of what my mother use to cook. The prices are very reasonable & I will be going back, do yourself a favor and go get some good food.

One of the best homecooked style meals I’ve had in a while besides my own. Very warm, home style environment. Dope staff, awesome customers who come regularly. Some of the best orange juice, lemonade and catfish. I love it.

This is one of your hole in the wall spots. Been here more than 50 years. Same set up. Pancakes are done right. Have to get those fried pork chops with a side of grits. This is a in the city breakfast spot. Open in the morning and closes late afternoon. Seating is very limited. They have seating at the counter and several booths. Come on in and just wait until you see an empty spot. Then just go sit or stand at the table until someone comes and cleans it off. Parking is on the street and can be a little tricky. You can leave your American express at home. This is a cash only spot. No checks, credit , debit or IOU’s. Food is priced reasonably and pretty tasty. Portion sizes are good.
