We did the omakase experience and it was amazing. It was so intimate with the chef. I felt so fancy. The chefs were so amazing and you can see the passion they have for the food. The wine was amazing and tasted delicious with the sushi. We had a 21 course meal and every bite was mouth watering.

We ordered five rolls, and each one was delicious. The fish was fresh and flavorful, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality. The staff was also incredibly friendly and welcoming.

We tried the Restaurant Week special menu($55+ tax)and the overall value was great for the price. The presentation was nice, though the sushi presentation was on the simpler side. Parking is only available on the street, and it can be a bit tricky to find a spot.

Forgot to take the photo for cold soba.

I cannot express how underrated and lesser known this place is given their menu, specials and happy hour. We went on a Friday at 6 pm. While the overpriced tourist traps around were packed nearby, we had no trouble getting a table and their staff was incredible. Their happy hour menu is really solid given the cost of sushi in DC if you want truly fresh ingredients that are thoughtfully paired together. We left there thinking about the next time we can go back because this place really deserves to stay and thrive on 14th. Tell your friends. Make sure to know their happy hour times, and bring an empty stomach

My partner took me here years ago to celebrate our six months of being together. The staff were so friendly and made wonderful suggestions. It was such a lovely time and the ladies next to us enjoyed my chopstick lessons for my boyfriend. The lychee beverage was sssoo delicious!! That experience is one I’ll always hold dear. You should definitely try this place!

Very nice sushi place. First time that I had citrine roll, or any baked sushi, and it was delicious. Good recommendations for fast dishes. Notice that the restaurant is on the second floor and the stairs are steep.

I came in for dinner to celebrate my husbands birthday, and the food was delicious! We visited during restaurant week and were impressed by the portions and flavor. Our server, Henry was so kind and provided excellent service. At the end of our meal, I believe the chef came by to ask how our dinner was and we let him know it was incredible. The drinks were also yummy and well balanced. The sushi was so fresh! Cant wait to come back.

This review is for Omakase Raw, the upstairs omakase bar. Fantastic experience! Jimmy Yi is a true craftsman and very personalble and engaging, gave great explanations for each course including his rationale for the sequence. It was great to get insight into the thought that went into putting together the whole experience. It made for a very friendly and easy-going atmosphere. The sommelier, Jenistar, had great recommendations and her demeanor really contributed to a relaxed, comfortable vibe. Finally, the dessert, a sweet corn ice cream, was a great finish and overcame what can be the Achilles Heel (eg dessert) of omakase experiences. Could not recommend more strongly!

Came here for date night and the whole experience was on point. Let me start by saying that my husband and I travel and lot and as he would say “I’m very picky about food”. There are very few places that impress me enough to write a review and this is one of them. We found this place randomly on Open Table and booked the culinary 8 course omakase experience for $85 a person. We also upgraded to unlimited select alcohol for $30 a person (for one). If I could, I would redo the whole culinary experience and repeat the magnificent culinary journey again – it was that good. It’s hard to pick my favorite dish of the 8 we tried. Every dish was perfectly crafted by Chef Johnny. The staff was very friendly and made the whole experience even more memorable. Can’t wait until we are in the DC area again – will definitely be back!

This restaurant is exceptional. I’ve been twice this month and can’t wait to come back. My boyfriend loved the Onyx roll, calling it the best roll he’s ever had. My favorite was the Peridot roll. Lychee Geisha cocktail also delicious.
