If you’re in the area, stop in, ask for Patrick, and treat yourself to a lunch that hits all the right notes. Highly recommend!
Tahoe Treasure!
I had the veggie lasagna at Tahoe Tavern & Grill—seriously the best I’ve ever had. So fresh, flavorful, and perfectly layered. I ended the meal with their pineapple bread pudding, and it was warm, sweet, and unforgettable.
The vibe was amazing—cozy, with great music (loved hearing Ray LaMontagne playing), and the customer service was top-tier. The bartender was awesome—friendly, adorable, and made a killer old fashioned that totally hit the spot.
The chef is incredible—you can feel the care in every bite. This place is officially a go-to for me in Lake Tahoe!
As far as the food, it looks wonderful and great! But the flavor lacked a bit as well. The Popcorn cauliflower had some solid reviews on Yelp and Google, but I did not agree that the flavor was there. The Korean Chicken Sandwich had good flavor and crunch, which I would recommend! The side salad was a great side to share!
The Ahi Poke to be $40 is just not worth it, honestly. Quite surprising with the pricing and quality of Ahi Poke they are serving. Burgers and fries were standard and nothing special, quite cold when they came out, too. Overall, not a terrible experience but also not the best. Good little quick stop for the hungry travelers!
Starting off, we dove into the juicy birria tacos. These beauties were brimming with slow-cooked shredded beef, tucked inside crisped corn tortillas. Fresh jalapeños and cilantro amped up the flavor, and that rich consommé made each dip pure magic. Birria tacos can be a gamble, but Tahoe Tavern knows what they’re doing—every bite was tender, juicy, and deeply seasoned.
Next up: sweet and spicy chili crispy chicken. Wing lovers, listen up! These wings nailed that crunchy exterior while staying super moist on the inside—seriously addictive. The glaze brought a little heat and a touch of honeyed sweetness, balanced by a side of crisp carrot and celery sticks. Dipping them in the ranch was a must!
The surprise hit of the meal had to be the Cuban sandwich. I’m picky about my Cubanos, but this one was stacked: smoky ham, roasted pork, Swiss cheese, tangy pickles, and just the right smear of mustard, all pressed together in toasty bread. Paired with those golden fries, it checked all the boxes.
Drinks were cold, the service was sharp, and everything felt relaxed and welcoming. Tahoe Tavern and Grill serves up generous portions and even bigger flavors—a must-stop for anyone in South Lake Tahoe who loves a satisfying, flavorful meal with a side of good company.
My wife had the tacos and loved them.
We have to try the pizza.
First the service wasn’t that great. The lady serving us made us feel rushed. They hardly came to check if we need anything or more drinks.
Then the food came. We ordered everything from a pizza to some burgers and a salad. Everyone wasn’t overly happy with the food and out of all the different dishes we wouldn’t have a desire to go back and get anything again. I really didn’t even want to take the left over pizza home.
Oh and a small kids cup of milk was $6.00!! Really?
