Food was just okay. The presentation was better than the taste. Better sushi at other spots, in my opinion. Service could be better. We asked for some spicy mayo, and before I could mention teriyaki as well, the server walked off quickly. When I asked for it on her return, she rudely asked if there’s anything else we needed as if she was bothered. Maybe not her intention to be rude, but it definitely came off that way.

Sushi was exactly what I was looking for and this seems to be the only sushi spot on the north shore of Tahoe. Our server was on it and got us everything very quickly. I got the dragon roll and the hollister roll and I really liked the hollister. Definitely met our needs for the evening!

I would have loved to eat here but we were turned away twice for showing up with a party of eight. We called ahead the first time (informing them of our party size) and were told as long as we showed up after about 7 we would be fine. We waiting for 15 minutes at the entrance only to be told they would not be able to serve us. We called ahead the next day (5:30) and I was told they don’t do reservations and it’s a small restaurant and that even now (at the time of the call) they only had a table for four. There was an awkward pause while the lady was clearly waiting for me to give up and hang up So I said thank you anyway and goodbye. I’m sure it’s a lovely place if you have a small group but I wouldn’t bet of the quality of the customer service based on my experience

One of my worst dining experiences in the past few years. Waited for over an hour for sushi even though the restaurant was practically empty. Very poor service, and when the sushi arrived it was not good. I’d rate the food 3/10. Definitely not going back.

Came here after a day snowboarding at Palisades. Very fresh and delicious sushi! Did not disappoint. It is hard to find fresh and tasty sushi coming from the Reno area, so I would say that this place is worth a trip to Tahoe and paying a la carte. Only issue was that we ordered hot green tea as we were cold from a day in the snow, but the tea was luke warm at best. The hot and flavorful Miso soup made up for this!

I would give this place 10 if I could. The service was quick. The rolls were delicious. The owner was busting her can to make the rolls herself. We have eaten a lot of sushi rolls, and these are some of the best we’ve had. It is a small business, which is always awesome to help during a 2-year pandemic.

Only Japanese restaurant around and good place to try if you’re tired of American-style bar-restaurants and craving for some Asian food. Compared to other Japanese restaurants though, this is average. I had a seaweed salad and some rolls and both were just okay. Hot sake was so-so but cheap. Service was surprisingly slow for the number of customers. Might revisit if I’m desperate for Asian food again.

Outstanding sushi and shashimi!! Asked for extra ginger and wasabi and actually got it!! (Every other restaurant where I’ve asked was given minimal.) Oh, and sisters and nieces say that you’re sushi chef is cute.
