So good! The taco selection is large and has lots of variety. Simplicity is not a priority, but you won’t miss it. The price is right on these at $12 for 3. They aren’t small and they are packed with creative flavors. The Fresco was a really good vegetarian option, and the Salazar is mouth watering, like a bacon taco. The grilled pineapple smash carafe is very tasty too! The patio area is pleasant and there is also a room where they will open the extremely large windows in nice weather. If you’re exploring tacos in KCK, this place will stand out!

This place was awesome 2 years ago. This time we had our daughter and we had trouble ordering with lack of knowledge of food. So if you’re celiac and allergic to dairy, be warned. Otherwise, I’m not sure if we happened to be in on an off day or what, but the tables were sticky, there was no soap in any of the bathroom dispensers, water was on the floor and things just didn’t look well maintained. I hope they pull this place back together.

We came for Taco Tuesday, I got one chicken and one beef taco for $2 and one Feliz minus the mushrooms. The Feliz was pretty good. I liked the chicken but the beef was too sweet tasting to me. Beans and rice were average. Also got a house Margarita and it was pretty tasty as well. The chips and salsa were both thick, better with a little of the hot salsa mixed in. My husband ordered the beef tacos and didn’t care for them either. My daughter got the Jorge with shrimp and really liked it. Service wasn’t bad. By far not my favorite place for tacos but overall it was decent.

This place has a great vibe. The style and music are fun and there are plenty of games outside to play like Cornhole, giant connect 4, and giant Jenga.

As for the food, I got the Papi tacos and I thought they were alright. The chips and salsa are pretty good.

My only complaint is that our server was slightly snarky when a portion of our group didn’t order any food. It was just unprofessional but she still did a great job serving us.

Went on a whim because my daughter was craving street tacos like I make at home. Being from NM I was hoping that this would be in the ballpark of Mexican food.

Seated outside at one of the wooden tables and was promptly brought water, chips and “salsa” which was pretty much chunky tomato sauce. No heat, spice or salsa flavor. Chips were a mix of thick tostada and thin crispy chips so I picked out the thinner ones and.ordered Bernardos Texaz dip to accompany them seeing as how the salsa didn’t do it. The Texaz dip had pico de gallo, chili beans and guacamole in the center of some melted cheese which actually wasnt too bad.

We ordered 3 tacos each and for that we got a little bit of rice and beans complimentary. The beans reminded me of hot dog chile beans and the rice tasted like Uncle Ben’s instant rice. Although the presentation was good as were the reviews of this place, the tacos didn’t align with the hype. Ordered some sopapillas to give menu one last try …but they were covered in cinnamon sugar and served with chocolate and not honey. Sad day.

Highlight of the night was meeting the super sweet busser from Guatemala who took great care of us.

Good ambiance….good cheese dip ….good busser. As far as the main food, if you’re craving a step up from Taco Bell, then this is your place.

Came for brunch on Sunday. It was not crowded when we arrived at 10:45 but started to really fill up after 11.

The patio is great and dog friendly. I love that they serve chips and salsa with brunch (brunch snacks!).

Very happy with the chilaquiles and breakfast tacos. We left very full. The Bloody Mary’s were a bit expensive for the quality but they came with a piece of bacon instead of celery which was awesome. Bonus: huge glasses of water which was awesome as it started to get hot.

I would like to be a regular at this place.

The food was fantastic. I got the steak fajitas and my wife got the flautas. Our server was very nice, personable and her service to us was great. The reason I docked one star was for the long lengthy times between us sitting, us getting drinks, us ordering, us getting food, us checking out. It was just long spans of time between it. But over a great experience. The outside patio was awesome to sit and enjoy some Sunday brunch. A little windy but hey that’s Missouri weather for ya!

Very tasty tacos can be found here! Tons of variety. If you aren’t feeling like tacos, satisfy your hunger with enchiladas, chimichangas, half of a smoked chicken, or lots of others things. Grab a drink. There are plenty of options. The outdoor enclosed patio is still pretty cold at night even with the heaters.

With a reputation for not your normal – meat, cheese, lettuce taco place, I gave Taco Republic a solid test on a Sat night. It’s across the street from Kansas City (Oklahoma) Joes, which is smart, and the atmosphere is urban-relaxed. I went with my family on a Saturday night about 6:30PM and got seated right away even though the place was very busy.

Staff was working very hard, but not reckless. You could see servers getting to tables pretty fast after customers sat down, runners would bring out food when it’s hot and ready, and bus persons were all over dirty tables. I did see one bus person throw some tea or water in the bushes – LOL. Take it in the back, please. I felt the process of getting seated was fast and orderly, and I was not expecting that after having to park down the street.

Ross was our server and he dropped chips and salsa on the table on the first visit. I ordered some queso and everyone got a drink. I could see lots of beautiful-looking margaritas being delivered to other tables, but our table elected for ice tea this night. #OnTheWagon

I ordered chicken tamales and my wife ordered three different tacos. Food came out in out 10 minutes and was hot. Many times, however, I noticed when the runners would come out with food, they had no idea where they were going, and would call out the food items until someone said, “That’s mine.” I watched our food get carried around to a few other tables before it landed.

At first, I thought the plate looked small, but it was a perfect portion. A lot of mexican places simply put too much food on the place. Taco Republic seemed to ease up on the portions, but there was no easing on the flavor. It was outstanding! I tried all the tacos and my wife tried my tamales. Everyone enjoyed everything!

My biggest complaint was that the queso came from the kitchen luke-warm. I’ve see other reviewers saying the same thing. My group is used to queso, at most mexican places, coming out piping hot, burn-your-lips style where you need to wait before you eat it. This was not the case at Taco Republic.

Our order total was $28. My wife and I commented on how we thought it was a great value.

I will go back and I want to try more of the taco options they have when I have an empty stomach. Live the #tacolife at Taco Republic.

Good tex-mex tacos and some pretty good chips and salsa. We also got the nachos which were also good, but could use more cheese & meat toppings. The drinks were a little sweet for my taste…a mexican beer would have been a much better pairing with the tacos.
