Otherwise the server was great and attentive. They did not have the pork chop but sent out a thinner cut chop which was delicious and not dry by any means. We also had the fried pickles, hamburger steak, and ribeye. Everything was delicious.
Price was a little high but it’s a Steakhouse so can’t really complain. So much better than outback and other chain spots in Columbus. Definitely worth the little drive.
I’d be back for sure.
If you look through my reviews, I typically do not review places I don’t care for.
I know the names of the people involved, but I will not use them because I wouldn’t want that done to me. But, they begged me to be unhappy about my experience tonight.
This place looked like they served good steaks. We were seated by a kind hostess. We were seated in a row of booths on the left side of the dining room when you walk in. The waiter came to the table and took our drink order. He brought them back in a reasonable amount of time. We were the first seated out of four tables that I saw him work. After he took our drink order, he stepped to the table next to us and took thier order. When he came back with thier drinks, he brought them dinner rolls and after he served them, he gave us ours. The dinner rolls were fantastic. Not yeast rolls, but dinner rolls. They were good.
He came back and took our order. We both ordered ribeye medium with baked potato. We were advised they were out of baked potatoes, which was unfortunate, but it happens. We found out later they had baked sweet potatoes, but I did not see them on the menu and he did not offer. After a reasonable amount of time, we were brought our food. The fries, mashed potatoes and steak were all on the same small plate. We had to pull food off and put on the roll plate to have room to cut into the steak. No problem, except the there was a lot of blood and juice that soaked into the fries, which is gross for some reason. The steak had garlic butter, a lot of garlic butter, and I don’t care for it. No problem. I cut into the steak and it was rare in places and medium rare in other. Definitely not medium. I know a lot of people like raw steak… I don’t and I was paying. We both cut into our steak and pushed the plates to the middle waiting on him to come back by, only he did not come back. He jumped to the other three tables twice while we were sitting there. I was trying to catch him but he was quick. I was looking at him as he saw my plate of untouched food. He was staring at it as he was taking to the people seated at another table. He didn’t ask if it was prepared correctly and darted off to the back. After probably 20 minutes or so, I went to the hostess and asked her to get us a bill because he was not checking in with us. He came back a few minutes later and set the bill on the table. I put my card down and he grabbed it and shoved into his machine. Never asked about the full plates. He did ask if I wanted a box. I told him the steaks were not cooked right. He said he wasn’t ignoring us but he was very busy. I told him he absolutely was. He turned the machine around to ask for a tip, which I gave him.
We got up to leave and I really felt like I was shook down. The restaurant offers steaks cooked at different temperatures. That’s thier choice to offer. I asked for one cooked a particular way. They don’t fulfill thier end, but I am forced, by law, to pay them for it. I took 2 bites of the mashed potatoes and ate 1 roll. Cost me $73. It’s not a reasonable thing. He should have asked. They should have tried to make it right. As I was leaving, I thought about what I’ve read tons of times… If you don’t talk to someone and give them a chance to make it right, you shouldn’t complain. Fair enough. I asked the hostess for a shift manager. A girl came out who I doubt was a manager and I explained what happened. She thought it was funny and my impression was that she didn’t care at all. I even told her it was obvious she didnt. Just not good at all. When I got home, I noticed the bill I paid was not mine, but the table next to mine. It cost me $6 plus tax more than it should have for a meal I didn’t eat and to be fleeced for over 70 bucks. Thier food was bad, but thier attitude was worse.
Service was extremely slow, and it wasn’t busy. Although I have to say waitress was extremely nice and professional. But she never asked if i wanted another drink.
Restaurant was clean
Drinks arrived in a timely fashion however food didn’t. Several tables who ordered after us, got their food first. Steak was good, cooked right and seasoned nicely. Fries and asparagus were over cooked….crunchy and hard. And i think i had about 5 asparagus.
Heard good things about this place, maybe an off day.
We had a party of seven, the service was outstanding, the food was off the charts good! The atmosphere was country feeling with upscale taste! If you’re in the area or passing through this is a must-stop place to try!
The service was second to none! Plenty of parking.
