I suppose the lady at the front take any guest for a fool because do you all see brown stew chicken on this plate? As a Trini, I can tell you this isn’t brown stew chicken, whether this is a Jamaican spot or not. Mind you, the lady at the register is not Caribbean. So, the Jamaican lady who served it up (after cleaning the area with the cloth and NOT changing her gloves) was silent when I came back in to discuss. Mind you, when I did, the cashier says “here we go…” Well! You all shouldn’t be serving non-authentic food but claim to be authentic. This is not brown stew chicken . That’s it. Oh, and the curry chicken patties are just okay.

The brown stewed chicken ain’t browned or stewed. It’s leftover fried chicken in some red sauce. Very disappointed! That is not authentic brown stewed chicken. Somebody in that kitchen is back there playing cause ain’t no way!

We arrived in Savannah, hungry and searched around for something to eat. Restaurant stood out with good review and we decided to check it out.
We got there around 4pm on a week day and we couldn’t find parking. Since this was our first time, we couldn’t take chances with being towed. Drove around and found parking about three blocks down.
Restaurant was small spaced with about four tables. It was busy and ordering was quick. Staff were pleasant. We ordered (1) large oxtail with rice/peas and Mac and cheese; (1) large brown stew chicken with rice/peas and Mac and cheese; carrot cake, and pineapple soda. We didn’t feel comfortable eating at the restaurant because it was kinda small with people waiting in the restaurant for their food.
Brown stew chicken wasn’t what we were expecting, but the sauce was really good. The oxtail sauce wasn’t it for me. It wasn’t good. Carrot cake was mehn, ended up thrashing it and the oxtail menu. Hubs was too hungry to care less, typical male, lol. Finished his food.
Portion size was decent but food didn’t meet my expectation.

This has been my go to place since it opened for Caribbean food. But over the past few years it has gone down hill. The owner is soooo down to earth, friendly and personable but his staff that he has working the front always seem to have attitudes or like they don’t want to be there or just hate when people walk through the doors. The portion sizes have definitely gotten smaller and not worth the money. My children even love this place and on each visit I’m normally spending about $75+ on dinner. I used to frequent this place alot but each visit i tend to stay away longer each time. And after my visit last night I may just need to find a new place to spend my money altogether.

Was so excited to support this business! The man at the food truck was very nice. But I bit into my jerk chicken wing & it was super raw & bloody inside. It made me literally sick because I don’t know how much of that raw meat I had swallowed already in the other piece I had. The rice was really good, I wish I could’ve enjoyed the rest of my meal. $27 down the drain.

This is a great alternative to the craziness in the historic district!
We got two meat sampler meals because we just couldn’t choose what we wanted. Fortunately, everything was awesome! Our favorites were the ox tail and goat curry, make sure you get the rice and peas for all the delicious sauce! We were the only ones eating in the tiny restaurant but they had a ton of people coming in and out for to-go orders. The staff is also friendly and welcoming to all! The pineapple ginger drink is also worth noting, we bought two more to-go for mixing with Rum later. Enjoy! This one is not to be missed. (Please give me a thumbs up if you found this helpful!)

My go to for Jamaican food in Savannah! I got the small oxtail plate with mac and cheese & rice and peas. I’ve been coming here for a while now via their food truck but was my first time stopping in their physical location. I was in and out within 5 minutes!

The woman answering the phones is absolutely disgusting for business. Her attitude is ridiculous. I called to place an order & she was rushing me. She stated “It will be ready when you get here”. In my experience ordering from other establishments, an estimated timeframe for preparation is provided. When, I politely asked for a timeframe, she stated , “It will be ready when you get here. I mean it depends on you” . Which I found to be very distasteful, so I told her disregard the entire order. I was looking forward to the food, but I don’t want my food prepared by anyone with such a despicable attitude towards paying customers for absolutely no reason. I will never be ordering from here again until she gets that together , respectfully.
