Sweet Lake Biscuits & Limeade

The biscuits here are pure magic, crispy and buttery outside, soft and tender inside, not bland, delicious flavor, some of the best in Utah.

Overall decent service even with coming in late. Our food was still fresh and excellent. We all had different dishes. I had the Basic B and I loved it. Both the mushroom and sausage gravies perfectly scratched the biscuits and gravy itch. However, Raspberry Limeade stole the show! I had to order a second one to go! It was fantastic. Fresh, delicious, and super refreshing.

My boyfriend and I found the limeade was overly sweet. If you’re not part of the Utah crowd looking for a sugar high or under 13, it’ll probably be too much for you. Would have appreciated a way to choose a lighter sweetness level. Food was okay, it seemed like it was built for looks, not for flavor. Servers were great.

The customer service can be improved. Waiting to be seated, we came early before it got busy and one member of our party entered the restaurant to let them know we were on our way inside. They said they’d seat us when the entire party got there. Not a problem, except they then disappeared for 5 minutes as we were entering the establishment and we watched 2 other workers chat away at a table, once in a while looking over at us.

The majority of the non-positive reviews seem to be frustrated with the wait/seating experience. I will concede that the 45-minute wait is a lot for breakfast, but the staff seem to be doing everything possible to get people to tables.

We went just to try it out and now I will make it a frequent stop. The service was friendly and fast. The food was delicious. I did the Hoss and it was delicious, biscuit with sausage gravy, fried chicken breast and an egg all stacked high. I also added some avocado and it made it just that much better. Paired with the orange raspberry limeade and it was a breakfast to remember.

This was my first time at sweet lake biscuits in Draper. We started off with the chips and limeade salsa. I wasn’t really a fan but my wife like it. We both got the Hoss. It was good but a little spicy. I do not know if it’s the gravy or the chicken. I was super excited about the hash browns but I got scared of the red quinoa and spinach. Never had that in hash browns and I didn’t want to ruin my brunch. My wife loved all of the food but I thought it was just ok. Maybe it was the portion sizes or that I must have been just off. I will go back again and try them out as they are a local business. Our waiter was great and super friendly. He was also running the front of the house and it was busy and he did a great job.

Update 4/14/23 service has gone way way down. The hostess was extremely rude upon arrival. Server didn’t acknowledge us for 20 minutes while we waited for water/drinks. Then another 20 min to get take our order. We asked for the check after we’d been there almost 90 minutes. Took her another 30 to get it to us. In total, a weekday breakfast took over two hours. She basically ignored us, and we tried to fill our own water and hunt down butter and jams. Food was decent. Can’t say I want to go back after this terrible experience. It breaks my heart but I DO NOT recommend Sweet Lake.

I’ve only been twice to this location. The first time was really good, but this time I was a bit surprised. I brought a friend from out of town. The AC wasn’t working; noticed right away. It was very hot in there, but we were short on time so we decided to go ahead and stay. I ordered the sliders they were OK just extremely greasy and the bread was hard. The service was as good as it could be for how hot it was in there. I was a little surprised they were continuing to let customers in without any AC on such a hot day. Neither of us ate very much, and we had to ask the waiter several times for napkins and water. The raspberry limeade was good, it was just very full so it spilled on the table and was sticky. And it wasn’t very cold. I think maybe it was an off day but between the heat and the mediocre food, just not sure I’d take a friend here from out of town.

I was truly looking forward to trying the food from this place given its reputation. Unfortunately, my recent experience left much to be desired. Not only did I find the taste and quality lacking, but the packaging was quite disappointing. The food wasn’t placed in proper containers; it was simply thrown into boxes, which greatly affected its presentation and appeal. I hope the establishment takes note and makes necessary improvements for future patrons
