Thank goodness for Sweet Hazel & Co! I’ve been enjoying their delicious, vegan food, desserts and chocolates since Chef Fee had the first little spot off 4500. I usually source their delicious goodies at The Neighborhood Hive in Sugarhouse, but I decided to check out the most recent Sweet Hazel & Co location on Main, and it was a delight! A lovely grab and go set up with all the usual desserts and tasty, savory offerings in coolers. I had the “ham, egg, & cheese” breakfast sandwich and it was completely delectable. One of those taste experiences you don’t want to end. I also very much enjoyed the dairy free soft serve icecream, and took some of the famous, vegan crème eggs to go. With easy parking, and cool decor, it’s an SLC treasure!

I really loved the food at Sweet Hazel & Co. Everything I tried was delicious and clearly made with care. The ambience was great too: cozy, stylish and the kind of place I’d normally want to linger in.

The only downside for me was the service. It wasn’t bad, exactly, everything arrived fine but the vibe from my server/cashier felt passive aggressive. Like he was upset or frustrated and it kind of came through in how he interacted with me. It felt rushed and a little unkind, which was disappointing given how great everything else was.

One thing to note: it’s a bit pricey. I don’t mind paying for good food and the half sandwich I got was $6, which felt totally fair. But the tater tots were also $6 and that felt like a lot for what it was. Just something to keep in mind if you’re watching your budget.

Still, I’d definitely go back for the food and the atmosphere. Just hoping for a warmer experience next time.

Sweet Hazel is amazing! I’ve been here a few times and loved everything I’ve tried. Their sandwiches are my favorite! The staff are wonderful and it’s such a cozy vibe. They seem pretty busy so I had to wait a while but the food was worth it. I’d recommend ordering online to avoid a long wait

We love it here! Sweet Hazel Bistro is truly a gem. The food and desserts will absolutely blow your mind — everything is 100% vegan and made with so much care and creativity. From incredible meals to an unreal selection of handcrafted vegan chocolate bars, this place is a dream for plant-based foodies.

The vibe is warm and welcoming, and the staff is super friendly. You can feel the love and passion the owner pours into every part of this place — and you can taste it too! Sweet Hazel is a must-visit if you’re anywhere near the area. We can’t recommend it enough!

Frustrating experience today at this place.
There were two of us and we wanted to order sandwiches and eat quickly at the cafe to proceed further but we didn’t expect that we would be stuck at this place for one hour and a half. The place is not welcoming and is not friendly, despite we chose this place for good reviews and vegan food.

We arrived and asked if we can eat something at the place. The waiter/owner/employee told us to scan the barcode and to check the menu. He did not provide any other details or explanation. It is written there that you need actually to scan it and order. There is no printed menu or menu on the blackboard. My family member did so and then received an SMS that the order will be ready in 52 minutes. The order was placed at 2 pm and should be picked up at 2:52 pm.
In case of problems there was a phone number which we had to call. We called this number to cancel the order as waiting time was too long but no one responded and we just left a message on the voicemail. Time passed by. The waiter was not seen at his desk and we decided to send an sms but then no one responded again at the end. We decided to wait until the order will be ready at 2:52 pm. I approached the front desk at 2.52pm and spoke with the waiter but he said that the order was not ready yet. I told him that we wanted to cancel the order, but no one picked up the phone and no one responded to our SMS. He seemed to be angry that we didn’t approach him and he said that he did not really pick up the phone when he works and we should not call him. It seems that there are contradictions and some gaps in the protocol how this place operates. We followed exactly the guidance which we received in the SMS and if the waiter or the owner does not respond to customer calls, in this case it should be indicated in sms: in case of any problems contact the front desk instead of calling. The place was almost empty when we arrived and it was pretty empty during our stay. There were two girls waiting for their order ahead of us and a lady who came to pick up her order. Meanwhile, the waitor saw us, he definitely knew that we were waiting for the order but he has never actually approached us asking if we would need anything etc. My family member needed urgently food due to health issues and as a result we had to order coffee and a brownie. In addition to the original order around 30 $ we paid additional $12 for coffee and sweet dessert.

If the place lacks human resources, it should optimise work or hire someone else in addition. Customers should not waste their time and should not suffer because the owner or the waiter had to do everything and he is the only one in the shop. When we ordered food we didn’t know about it and we received completely misleading guidance by SMS. In addition, the place is not super clean because, as I understand, there are no resources to do everything. To find a toilet is a quiz too because there is no indication on the door that this is actually WC (see photo).

We placed the order at 2:00 pm and our two sandwiches were delivered at 3:08 pm. This is really really ridiculous for two sandwiches. I will never come back again to this place, and I strongly recommend the owner, the management or whoever to reconsider working arrangements at this place to make them more welcoming, friendly and clear for customers.

The waitor told me to come there next time but I told him loudly in front of all customers that there will not be second time.

For those who wants to eat healthier: this place does not sell sandwiches or burgers with whole grain bread/bun. You have regular white bread/bun choice only. Basicly, Subway could be even a better option in terms of time, customer service and variety of ingridients.

I tried a small piece of brownie and it was super sweet and sugar bomb. I refrained from second bite because it was not eatable.

Just tried their lunch for the first time and it was delicious. The chickpea melt fulfilled my tuna melt dreams. Buffalo “chicken” sandwich is fantastic. Portion sizes are quite large (so many tasty fries!). The cookies and cream cake is wonderful, as well. The staff member who helped me was a delight. Will be going back for brunch 🙂

While not what I was expecting, this did not disappoint! This is a grab and go restaurant, that does have seating, and they will heat up your food if you’d like to stay. I had the most delicious lasagna I’ve ever had! It was gluten free and vegan, they heated it to the perfect temperature. I often crave cake, but with my allergies I don’t get to enjoy very often unless I make it myself. They have individual cakes! Not cupcakes, but cakes! With so many options to choose from! Not everything is gluten free, but things are clearly labeled and the server/staff member was so kind and answered all my questions. I’m sad it’s taken me so long to try this place, but am thrilled to come back!! Such a fantastic local business in this community!!

I had a good dining experience here. I had the Cobb salad and a limey palmer, both were quite good. The waiter never checked on us after he brought us our food though. They have a cute patio that looks like it will be fun when the weather is warmer. Would go here again.

She has it down! Food tastes amazing! Fun, friendly and professional staff!! Tiramisu, lemon raspberry cake, everything cookie, breakfast burrito, creamy broccoli soup … Just a few of my faves and highly recommend! You’d never guess that it’s all vegan! There’s been a few times I forgot to order a bday cake but they’ve always had great options and was happy to write on the cake the day of!

Even though I’m not vegan, Sweet Hazel has some of the most delicious food I’ve ever tasted. Whether you want sweet or savory, everything I’ve tried so far has been exceptional. The staff is also amazingly friendly.

We had the puff pastry, biscuits and gravy, and raspberry cinnamon roll.
