First off… The food is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I’m not from this area so when I found a place to get my favorite, I jumped on it. The packaging needs a lot of work.. it does not hold up at all. The only food packaging they did great with was the Suya. The amount of Suya you get for the prices doesn’t match up either.. will I eat there again?! Maybe.. it all depends on what kind of time I have to go somewhere else.

The food quality is not what I expected. These are not real suya-grilled dishes, but simply food covered with suya spice. The chicken tasted old and not fresh.
On the positive side, the restaurant décor and the service were excellent.
However, the prices are high compared to other places that offer much better quality.

I bought food worth of $160.
If you have a big appetite, this place is not for you. Their pounded Yam comes in small sizes. You have to pay separately for the stew to eat the rice you ordered. The rice don’t come with stew even if you ordered for the meat.
So I got rice and beans with assorted meat with absolutely no stew in it. How do you expect someone to eat rice with no sauce.
The only sauce I got was the ayamase sauce. The rest of the orders came with only the protein in it and no single sauce with it. When I called them, I was told I had to order the stew or sauce separately. I have never experienced such a service like that before.
You have to pay for sauce that is supposed to come with the complete meal? That is crazy!
The food is extremely pricey for it not to make sense.
The atmosphere is beautiful but the food isn’t worth it.
Will definitely not return back.

I’ve ordered here a few times and the suya is always good and cooked well (not over cooked like the Towson location). The place is well-kept and clean. Customer service is good, the staff is always pleasant, food is ready fast, and packaged well. The food is pricey and portion sizes are highly debatable by anyone’s standards given the cost. I’ve always found the beef in the stew to consistently be tough and over cooked which is quite annoying- especially for the cost. It’s nice to have a place to order Nigerian food in a pinch, but you will pay for it. They offer a modest rewards program.

This place is an absolute rip off. I don’t know in what world they live in with the exorbitant prices they have listed on their menu. They have Costco’s Kirkland Water listed as $3.99 (a moment of silence was observed from shock). I know for a fact that water was not imported from Nigeria, but from Costco less than a mile away. The suya portions reflect the size of a snack, for kids. just a few pieces for almost 20 some dollars. Then the other dish they had which was 5 pieces of beef with an entire black take out container of rice. You might be importing some spices for sure, but are you importing halal cows and chicken too?!?!?!? Even with the halalflation we have in america, the prices are beyond diabolical. It’s not like they are taking the time to serve you with actual metal utensils and ceramic/porcelain/glass dishes. It’s all plastic takeout boxes and plastic utensils. And let’s not forget about the ignorant service. It seemed as if they were just too bothered to acknowledge your existence. I don’t expect much for service, just be nice. I don’t know how this place is running. I guess with the lack of Nigerian restaurants is what helps this place.

The restaurant’s ambiance is top-notch. However, I agree with other reviewers that the food price is steep. The food did taste good, but I was taken back that we had to pay $14 to eat there. That didn’t make sense to me but we paid. The guy that attended to us was nice.

I decided to try Suya Spot for my birthday since I’ve never had African food before. I walked in around 6:45 PM, and the restaurant was empty. I went up to the counter, but the staff had their back turned, and there was a phone propped up on the counter. I waited for a greeting while reading the food labels, but nothing came. Eventually, I had to call out “hello.” The lady finally acknowledged us and asked if we were eating in or taking out. I said “taking out,” and she pointed to the kiosk to place an order.
I was still unsure about what to order, so I tried to ask a question about one of the items. In a huff, she replied, “Uh, I’m trying to eat my food.” At that point, I was really confused by the lack of service and how unwelcoming the interaction felt. I turned to my partner, and we walked out. If the staff wanted to eat, why wasn’t there someone else to help customers? I won’t be coming back, and I definitely can’t recommend it based on this experience.

The decor is top notch and has always been. Very clean environment and food display/presentation was great. I have been here a few times and I’m always wowed by the interior decorations. The food has never disappointed either but this place is slightly priced higher than typical West African carry out place. It’s easily a high end restaurant so bare that in mind when you see the price.

I see lots of negative reviews about gratuity being added to bill and I think the owner should address the issue to avoid confusion. Someone else complained about shrink wrap on the swallow when they warm up the food, not great. My only negative experience was that my plantain was delivered to the table after I was done eating. There’s always room for improvement but this restaurant is a positive representation of naija culture and resourcefulness so they have all my 5 star plus more.

Note: The level of spice is intense so thread carefully.

I have been to this location several times.

Environment: The restaurant was nice. The decor was beautiful and tables/seats were clean. There are two sections: a carry out section with seating and dine in section with a bar.

Food: Food is always good! Unfortunately, the last time I went, they reduced the portions for take out significantly. So much so, I’m debating if I want to go back. My boyfriend paid $22 for okra stew for me to open it at home and see it was half full. It didn’t even spill out, they just served us a half full container. I don’t like our money wasted or my time (we have to drive a bit of time to get there).

Customer Service: It was good, everyone was pleasant and did their jobs well.

Overall, I like the place and the food. I definitely recommend visiting! If you do take out, I suggest checking your food before leaving. I’m not sure if it was just a busy night or the portions are getting smaller but better to check than be angry later.

Delicious food, very well made with good spices. The ogbono, okra, and nkwubi were amazing. The fufu was warm and the texture was perfect
