Came in for a couple drinks after a long day and we were so pleasantly surprised it was happy hour! Had some sake and a mango martini(phenomenal) and it was just overall a really nice and quiet atmosphere. Saw a couple food options on the happy hour menu and decided to give them a shot. We tried the fried Brussel sprouts and the delicious pork buns. The pork buns were really stand outs though, they were crispy on the outside of the pork fillet and tender and fatty on the inside . Delicious.
The service was also really good, the manager was also really nice and went out of his way to strike up a nice convo with us
10/10 would definitely recommend

Sushiko is surely the best sushi restaurant in Montgomery County and better than most in DC with only a few exceptions. The quality, creativity and presentation is excellent. Rhe quality of the sushi is top tier. The sushi bar area is a long arc, very well designed and oriented. It’s definitely the best part of the space. The main restaurant table space is a bit lacking in ambiance with only a couple/few booths and tables quite small and close together. I like that there’s a small parking garage as well as a lot right nearby and they do validate.

We’ve been to Sushiko before but this was our first time booking their omakase menu. The experience was fantastic. Each dish was so good and the service was phenomenal. Too difficult to choose a favorite dish between all the super fresh fish, many served with caviar and one with truffles, oyster with uni, wagyu… It was all excellent.

The omakase at the sushi counter was one of the most perfect meals I have had and was the perfect way to belatedly celebrate a special friend’s birthday. The creative interpretations of sushi were delicious and filling. The service was also phenomenal — friendly and generous and assured a perfect evening to celebrate a treasured and longtime friend. We loved chatting with the sushi chef during the meal as well as the executive chef of the restaurant. Although everything was delicious my favorites were the dishes with Hokkaido scallop and the o toro and uni handroll. A true gem in Chevy Chase and an achievement of local entrepreneurs to be celebrated.

I finally had the chance to experience Sushiko’s omakase, and I only wish I had gone sooner because it was absolutely incredible. Our sushi chef was wonderful and incredibly accommodating; it was clear he genuinely wanted our food to be perfect and our experience to be positive. Although the omakase is priced at $140 per person and was supposed to be a fourteen-course meal, we received more than fourteen courses. That extra surprise made the price feel easy to justify.
A tip for those planning on coming for the omakase who want to save a little on drinks is to arrive slightly early and grab beverages in the bar area, as the omakase tasting takes place during their happy hour (which runs from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM). You do have to close your tab at the bar and move to the sushi counter, but we were able to bring our drinks over without any problem.

Sushiko is a good addition to Chevy Chase restaurants. The sushi, well prepared -I didn’t think that their home sake, which was unfiltered was really any good. They should replace it with filtered sake. In my opinion their other Sakes are too pricey. I had a very nice waiter. She was very helpful and the usual problem in Washington these days their kitchen closes at 9 o’clock, we were served the check because it was time to get out. I sympathize with you know people wanting to make it an early night but no kitchen should close before 10 PM if you asked me especially on weekends but that’s an opinion -seaweed salad had mesclun at the bottom-overall a nice place.

Love it here; such good deals for happy hour every day of the week and very tasty food. Parking is easy and validated. Everyone who works here is super attentive and nice. I really love the consistency of having a good experience here, I can count on it, but would also love to see more new items on the menu!
