Okay the last time 2 times I went here I was quite disappointed in the quality of the food and the quality of the cuts of fish and preparation. The last couple times have been just so sad. I used to love this place but for $33 there are much better places that make a better quality nigiri. I don’t know if management is aware they are cheaping out. But they need to. I won’t be coming back and won’t get my money again. Just not good. Not good at all.

Food came out hot. Waitresses were pleasant and knowledgeable on the menu. Place is clean and smells good. Ordered crab Rangoon but it’s cheese Rangoon eliminating the crab. It’s a cheeper version and doesn’t taste as good.
However just don’t order the Rangoon. Looks like they have all you can eat sushi. Which is a plus! And they have hibachi which is delicious.
I will come again. Good restaurant and tasty food!

It makes me so sad to write this review as my family has been coming here for years. Within the past year and a half or so I’ve noticed a huge decline in the food quality and cleanliness here.
The gyoza is no longer steamed it’s fried and tastes like it came out of a bag straight from the freezer. The scallops are also not the same. They fry them in what I believe to be old oil because that’s all they taste of. Many of the breaded/ fried appetizers are like this now. The amount of grease that comes off of them is honestly quite disgusting as well, it never used to be this way. (Picture to show)
The last visit I had here the fish seemed off and color was odd. My husband and I both thought it looked old..
The very last straw was seeing tons of fruit fly/ gnats all over the restaurant. They had fly traps hanging abundantly right by the drink refill area. One of the gnats ended up in my water cup. If bugs are this bad in the winter months I don’t want to imagine the summer. We won’t be back.

I can’t believe I haven’t posted a Google review!
I’ve been coming to this wonderful establishment since I was a teenager and Sushi Ya has always been one of my favorite nostalgic spots. I always appreciated the hard work of the master chefs who create their artistic work in their food.
And when I say artistic I mean they go all in! Order one of their sushi specialties and you will see for yourself as the chef’s delicately placed all their ingredients for their masterpieces.
Sadly I was a bit disappointed at one of their customized orders for a very special baby shower that was paid by her beautiful sister…however after she ordered this platter I couldn’t be mad at them due to the amount of fish. This time was filled with their other special ingredients other than rice.
Thank you to the wonderful and memorable staff of Sushi Ya. To this day you still create more memories even on wheels thank you Roula and Ivan.

We’ve been to sushi ya multiple times. Hands down best sushi in the joliet area. Today was even better than the other times. Their crab rangoons were so good, and they make it there! And our server was Max, incredible service. He was super polite and attentive! Thank you!!!

1st time ordering from here and I ordered through Uber eats. I’m so glad I did. This hidden gem is so delicious. Did the hibachi dinner and added the crunch California roll and I can not express enough how fresh and fire everything was. Good portions and most definitely will be ordering here again and/or possibly visiting in person. Thank you Sushi Ya for a great 1st time experience.

came here once and the service was okay but the sushi was really good. i came back to try all you can eat lunch special that ends at 3. i got there at 2:30 on the dot, i know what i want and i wasn’t planning on hanging around. they supposedly stop seating for AYCE at 2:20… that’s 40 min before they close for another hour and a half. she told me i could come back at 4:30, i told her i work later and she said “awh man I’m sorry”. pretty bummed out. was really looking forward to a nice meal before work. why say you close at 3 when actually you close at 2:20…

Well Sushi Ya didn’t fail. Definitely lived up to all the awesome reviews. Great sushi…. Definitely get the Vegas Roll and the Cowboy Roll. You will not be disappointed. I think we ate so much edamame that we couldn’t finish our sushi! Serves for 2nds.

First time here, when we walked in the employees were complaining about a customer off the bat to us, the server we has did NOT know what she was doing at ALL!! Only asked 2 people of our bigger party if they wanted drinks, never checked on us, we had to flag her down everytime, was blaming their system for taking forever to charge our cards (server was cleaning tables and fully ignoring us), Also ILLEGALLY added a 5% gratuity to the bill there at no signs or verbal disclosing of that. They did not add it on the bill before hand. My friend after said me and my other friend were the only 2 to get charged extra for tip!!! ILLEGAL SKETCHY PEOPLE AND A BUSINESS!!!! Also, no music and very quiet. We felt like we had to whisper.
