I had a wonderful dining experience at Sushi Q! The food was mostly excellent, especially the sushi rolls which were delicious. However, there were a couple of rolls where the cuts weren’t perfect, causing them to come apart slightly at the bottom.
The drinks were a highlight – they were not only delicious but also reasonably priced. The service was outstanding, with our server recommending sake to my girlfriend, who had never tried it before. Now she’s a fan and eager to explore more sake options.
The cozy atmosphere added to the charm, even though the restaurant is on the smaller side and can get quite busy. It was packed when we visited, but that’s a testament to its popularity.
I’m definitely looking forward to returning to Sushi Q to explore more items on their menu. Overall, it’s a great spot for sushi and a memorable dining experience! 4 out of 5 stars.

A small location in the middle of a shopping center without door seating. Overall the sushi was of good quality when the soup that I ordered was nice hot and tasty. I had no complaints for this restaurant. However I would have enjoyed talking with the waiter a little bit more but he was so busy running around all over the place.

A friend told me of this place 2 yrs ago and I’ve been putting it off until tonight. So very glad i stopped in and gave it a try, everything was great, friendly and helpful. My usual way to try a new Sushi place is to order Sake (Salmon nigiri) and that tells me whether or not its a good or bad sushi place, but tonight I wanted to try their signature roll (Sushi Q roll) except I ordered mine without the sriracha sauce as I’m a big wimp when it comes to spicy food. The roll was incredible with lots of bangin flavors, it just hit the spot, the 2nd roll (Elk Grove roll) was huge but lacked taste and they say it’s their most popular roll. I’m not a roll guy I just need to try some rolls to bring the girlfriend out of her comfort zone of Wasabi’s (Adel role) that’s made perfect for her. I believe Sushi Q has a new roll for her, stay tuned. My fav is Chirashi and the chef claims theirs is the best so I have to go back and try it.

This is small location that’s making some outstandingly good food. There’s outdoor seating for those nice spring and autumn evenings, the interior has a modest 9 or 10 tables.
I came on a Tuesday evening and was seated quickly. The menu was on a QR code (hard copy menus available upon request), they have a variety of items and combinations to fit all budgets. There rolls were tight and correctly proportioned making every bit a tasty one. The Chicken was thin and cut into bit sized pieces, with a glaze that made you want to take it home.
The servers take your order, bring your food, make sure your beverage is full, and that’s about it; they stay out the way and let you enjoy the experience that is the food.
The wife and I will be back to enjoy some more of the menu. If you enjoy good food in a cozy setting, this sushi location will fulfill all of your desires!

Listen, we ordered 4 rolls total. We started with 3 rolls including Uncle J, calvine, and torch and we loved them. The only thing about the rolls was that the actual pieces of fish on the rolls were lacking. Any roll should have a decent amount of fish on it. The tempura and tempura should not take over. The last roll that we got, kandy kain, was the worst sushi roll/food I’ve ever had. Not sure what they were going for but I do nooooot recommend it. It came out at the end of our meal and I instantly regretted it. We tried to eat as much of it as we could but gave up after deciding it wasnt worth it. Sorry, sushi q!

We were hungry after our bike ride so we ate some of it before taking pics. We have been looking for a good sushi place in the Sacramento area since we’ve moved up here from the bay area years ago. Sushi Q definitely hit the spot for us. Rolls are good but the same as most decent sushi restaurants. I wouldn’t get the salmon skin hand rolls again. The Tuna Blossom was really good with jalapeños giving it a slight kick (not spicy). The sashimi is great size (not like Mikunis…what a joke), fresh, and delicious . The condiments on the sashimi bowl was a nice surprise. Finally found a go to place for sushi instead of waiting to go to the bay.

Always fresh & always packed. Try to go there for their low times bc you will almost certainly be waiting on a list, unless you’re dining alone (: For a small restaurant though their flavors and style will pack a punch in your taste buds. Really unique rolls and has a relaxed vibe there. I went when they first opened and I’m still going now. I look forward to a new menu, & to seeing more creative rolls created.
It’s 2023 and I’d like to post an updated review. I was quit dissapointed with the sushi I ordered today. The flavors seemed to have changed quite a bit. I ordered 4 rolls and one roll took the whole time we were there to come out, I have no idea why. I have to say there is quite too much sauce on the sushi rolls now and their flavors don’t balance as well as they use too. Each roll I ate had very overpowering ingredients that took away from the roll. Maybe it’s a hit or miss, maybe today was a bad day. Sushi Q is always consistent in their rolls and flavors, I miss the simplicity of their rolls before. The flavors were well balanced and their was so much love in each roll. I declined eating at another sushi joint to come here and am so sad at what I received. The customer service was good, our server communicated with us often, we did have to ask for water and I did ask where our roll was. Dunno if I’ll go again.

Went again and it went well. It took them roughly 45 minutes to get our rolls out to us.

Came during lunch on a weekday & there is no more happy hour, per our waitress– but the prices are good for what you get!
What we got: torch roll (red/white tuna torched on top), and the lunch bento box w/ 5pc sashimi + 3 pc bbq albacore
– my mum and I LOVED both! The torch roll ($14.5) was so flavorful and had lots of tuna everywhere
– lunch time bento box ($15) was the first place I’ve seen (or paid attention to) that lets you do a bbq albacore as a menu item, which was superb. The one bonus would have been if they also gave miso soup
Would definitely come back! A reasonably priced sushi spot

Very good Japanese restaurant. Come early to get dinner because they fill up fast. The sashimi is very fresh. I also like the rolls. We ordered sushi Q, Skittle, shrimping ain’t easy, and loved them. The chicken teriyaki is also very good. Definitely will come back.
