Came here directly from seeing the Everglades. We were starving. The service could have been a little friendlier but that’s my only critique. The sushi was amazing! The rest of our trip, we did not find sushi that was as good or well made as what we had here. The atmosphere is casual and which fit our post Everglades vibes. If we ever go back to miami we certainly would visit again.

I have been coming here with my family since it first opened almost 23 years ago. Sushi is always as fresh as it comes and other food items are all very tasty. The best part about coming to Sushi Maki Coral Gables is seeing Suwen and Leroy. Suwen took care of us like family – the same way she has been for 23 years. She was attentive and knew our usual order. Special shout out to Leroy for always greeting us and helping us with a smile on his face. They recently remodeled and have created a beautiful and calming atmosphere. We ordered the Sashimi Platter, Spicy Tuna Salad (with Ginger dressing), Salmon Truffle Ponzu, and Thai Donuts – always with consistently great quality.

We’ve been eating at Sushi Maki for many years now and it is a favorite location we frequent. The quality and value of everything on their menu is truly outstanding. There are competitors in the area like Sushi Sake, but Sushi Maki sets the bar pretty high. While we often order out, today we ate at the restaurant and were waited on by Marissa. We never had to ask for anything because she was exceptionally attentive. She was familiar with the menu and was able to answer questions we had about certain dishes. She made sure our drinks were always full and checked on us twice during our meal. But we’ve found that this is pretty standard here. Service is always impeccable and everyone is warm and welcoming. It’s no wonder this place has withstood the test of time. They know what it means to provide excellent service and consistent, good-quality food.
