I have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years. My husband and I know our favorites and usually order similar dishes each time. Our favorites are the spicy sashimi salad, shrimp tempura, and a few sushi rolls. The food is always delicious and makes for a great weekend treat after work.

Some reviewers have commented on the quality of the sushi. It’s not at the Michelin-star level, but the quality is very good for the price. I also appreciate the variety of rolls on the menu. To be fair, I’ve noticed some subtle changes in the food over the years since we come here often. Occasionally, they add fewer greens or serve sashimi and tempura at inconsistent temperatures. However, these small inconsistencies are forgivable—many restaurants in the area face similar issues. This doesn’t discourage me from returning.

I’ve included a picture of our favorite rolls. If you decide to visit, I recommend trying the Pink Lady, Halloween, and Dynamite rolls.

Jay, the owner, is always kind and accommodating—he even chills our soju in his freezer for us. If you have a special request or concern, he listens and does his best to help.

As for the atmosphere, the restaurant is over 20 years old. Jay has done some partial renovations, and while the décor still looks a bit dated, it remains clean and comfortable.

On our trip visiting New York, Philadelphia, and Washington DC… feel so hungry, late at night… ‘Sushi Land’ where we stopped by in Philadelphia gave us such a wonderful time.
Even it was late and ordered various foods… we will never forget the incredibly kind staff and delicious sushi rolls.
And also the restroom was very spacious and clean, which is really important to me… hahaha
It’s a bit sad for I’m not sure when I’ll be back in Philadelphia… but I definitely recommend “Sushi Land” to anyone visiting Philadelphia.

The fish was fresh, the service was great, and the food was delicious! The prices are very reasonable, especially for the location (in the heart of Bryn Mawr). I only gave three stars for the atmosphere because I wasn’t really paying attention. I don’t know about you, but I go to restaurants to eat. We told the chef what we could spend, what we liked, and he took care of the rest. One of my new favorite spots. I only wish I knew about it sooner… like, 20 years ago!

A must go-to! The sushi is really fresh and so delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for sit-in or to-go. The price is very reasonable for the quality. They also have a 3/~$15 for select rolls and amazing lunch specials. Parking is around corner or in the back (free on Sundays). Staff was really nice. Very clean restaurant. 10/10!

What a disappointment! Why do you use Long Grain rice instead of sushi rice? And the Wasabi was just ground up horseradish with green colouring. Disgusting! The sushi was warm, worse than room temperature. And the Spider roll smelled and tasted like fish but we couldn’t find the crab!

Salad dressing was water-downed mayo with something that looked like paprika for color.

To be blunt, I was worried about the safety of the fish and crab and we will never ever risk eating here again.

Suuuuuuper solid! If you’re near on the main line I would definitely recommend swinging by to grab some sushi and enjoying it in a park.

One of the only places around that offers Hwe Dup Bap which is easily one of my favorite Korean dishes. The dressing for the salad was ON POINT! I would buy bottles of it if I could. Maybe I can. The rice was cooked perfectly. The rolls were fun! I tried a fermented plum and mint roll, and that was surprisingly delicious. I didn’t really know what to expect but it was great. I would absolutely recommend the Bryn Mawr roll and the Halloween roll!

I also got miso soup, a side salad and some fried calamari. A little sad because by the time I got home some of the sushi was not as cold as I would’ve liked and the calamari was a little soft. I totally understand that’s a time thing and a container thing. It was still really tasty.

The inside of the restaurant was cute and homey. The staff was all super friendly and greeted me when I came in for my order a little early. I asked about the hats they wear because they’re and they sold me one. I’m pretty excited to wear it around.

TLDR: This place is really worth it. Great food. Great people. Affordable.

Great portion and menu selections! Impeccable quality of food. I am so sad that I completely forgot to take a picture of sushi dish, but that means I was way too happy after tasting amazing food. I highly recommend this place!

I’ve never been more disgusted by sushi in my life. My wife and I ordered $44 worth of sushi this evening and received the sloppiest, skimpiest, most questionable rolls in our life. The 76er roll was supposed to have spicy tuna on top, instead it has a brown colored, Play-Doh texture concoction that is nauseating. The tuna rolls have almost no tuna and the tuna wasn’t properly cut from the fat! There is literally thin layers of chewy fat stuck in my roll. Don’t take my word for it, just look at the pictures. If it wasn’t for the fact that it’s too late for me to drive 15 mins back to Sushi Land, if be there now demanding my money back. DO NOT eat here, there are plenty of quality sushi places between Bryn Mawr, Ardmore, Wynnewood.
