Rice and beans actually delicious, rather than bland filler, as is often the case. We both loved it all!
Ambiance & Cleanliness:
Although the pickup area looked generally maintained, there was a noticeable greasy odor near the counter where orders are collected. It created the impression that surfaces had been wiped down without being fully degreased. While this didn’t affect the visual cleanliness, the smell was strong enough to distract from the experience.
Service:
Service was mixed. When I arrived, no staff were present to greet or assist me, and I ultimately had to step next door to get someone’s attention. Once a server became available, they were helpful and courteous, but the lack of initial presence made the pickup process feel disorganized.
Food Quality:
The quesadilla and chips with salsa were average. The flavors were mild and the food was not as hot or fresh as expected for a newly placed order. While the portion and pricing were reasonable, the overall quality did not match the value.
Final Thoughts:
Super Mex delivers a straightforward, no-frills Mexican menu, but my visit highlighted some gaps in consistency, particularly in food temperature, pickup experience, and attention to detail in the environment. With improvements in these areas, the restaurant could offer a much stronger and more reliable experience for customers ordering takeout.
But it definitely has Mexican inspired dishes.they do provide chips and salsa with your meal.
I ordered the chimichanga
The rice and beans were good but the beef inside the chimi was tasteless.
flautas were supposed to be chicken but actually tasted like pork.
The chilaquiles were soggy. And it was paired with a runny egg.
The coffee as ok. But they had no creamer. The brought us low fat milk. But they didn’t say nothing until we poured it in our cup.
We complained about it. But they did do anything about it.
I will not be coming back.
I had a fantastic meal at Super Mex Restaurant! I ordered the mixed fajitas with steak, shrimp, and chicken, along with sides of guacamole, pickled onions, pico de gallo, and sliced limes. The food arrived sizzling hot and was packed with flavor. The homemade corn tortilla chips and salsa were also a delicious touch. The service was friendly, and the restaurant was clean and conveniently located near the beach. A great spot for a tasty and satisfying meal—I’ll definitely be back!
I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at SuperMax, and I have to give them just one star. As a regular customer at this location, I often enjoy the convenience and usually good food, but this time, the customer service was utterly unacceptable.
After placing my first order through UberEats using a gift card, I encountered significant confusion over my request for “lite beans.” I assumed it meant a smaller portion of the regular refried beans, but instead, I received pinto beans—completely different from what I expected. On top of that, the rice was served in a smaller portion as well, which only added to my frustration.
I acknowledge that this was my mistake, but it’s not clear that asking for “lite beans” would result in receiving entirely different beans. This lack of clarity in their menu led to a frustrating experience, and I expected better communication from the restaurant.
When I called to explain the situation, hoping for some understanding, I was met with a dismissive attitude. The staff member simply said, “Well, sorry, that’s your fault.” This kind of indifference is unacceptable. Instead of taking accountability or offering a resolution, they deflected blame. When I asked if I could get the correct beans, I was told I would have to pay for them because it was “my fault.”
To make matters worse, the to-go person tried to share their own personal story as if that would somehow make the situation better. Honestly, when I am trying to resolve my issues as a customer, I don’t want to hear about someone else’s problems. It’s incredibly frustrating and completely misses the point of good customer service.
Overall, the lack of accountability and poor customer service ruined my experience. For anyone using the app, be aware that choosing “lite beans” may result in receiving pinto beans instead of what you expect, and don’t be surprised if the customer service leaves much to be desired. SuperMax really needs to step up their game in terms of communication and how they handle customer concerns.
Even their own website doesn’t make it clear what lite beans mean.
The photo with the cheese is normal beans and rice.
The other photo is lite beans and ‘normal rice.”
