We ordered the wild mushroom flatbread, French onion soup, American cheeseburger, New York prime sirloin, and lamb chops. Everything was delicious, even the bread. The flavors were well balanced and the presentation was on point. I’ll be attaching photos so you can see for yourself.
They also have an upstairs area where they host events, which adds to the vibrant atmosphere.
One thing to note: the entrance is at the rear of the building. If you park in the front, you will need to walk around, but you can exit through the front when you leave. They also offer valet parking, which makes it much more convenient.
Service was good, attentive without being intrusive. I recommend making a reservation. They also offer happy hour, which is great for cocktail lovers.
Overall, I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a stylish dinner spot in Fort Lauderdale.
Crab Cake – best I’ve ever had. Big chunks of crab, no filler crap!
Pork chop – also best I’ve ever had!
Plus, they have happy hour with excellent $10 cocktails.
Now, I’ll be honest, there was a few things I will mention, but because the service and food were so good, I won’t deduct any stars because I don’t want to hurt the business, but hope they improve.
• Placed reservation through Resy and put a note that we were there to celebrate mom’s birthday. No acknowledgment was made. Didn’t need all the staff singing or anything free, but just a simple “happy birthday” or even write it in chocolate or strawberry sauce on the dessert plate!
• Entrance area ambiance just feels a bit off, not so welcoming and doesn’t give fine dining vibes. I don’t really know how to explain it better, but for a restaurant of this level, I feel that there should be a little more umph in the entrance area. The rest of the restaurant is beautiful and feels like fine dining.
• Mom ordered the sirloin well done, no pink. One side was cooked more than the other. But more than 70% had pink in the middle. They cut the steak before serving, so I share the blame on this between both the chef and our waiter, as he could have visibly seen the pink and said something to the chef. He should have known better. Didn’t want to complain because it was mom’s birthday and we just wanted a good vibe. The actual taste was amazing! And the well done part was still juicy so that bit was perfect.
• On to dessert, we got the crème brûlée and Oreo pie. The crème brûlée actually came out like liquid. We did speak up about this and showed the waiter. He was surprised, apologized and replaced it and the next one had a perfect texture. But the flavor was just missing something. The oreo pie was ok, nothing special. It seemed like a plain pie crust with a layer of crumbed Oreo, then a thin layer of plain whip cream with some mini Oreos on top, with a scoop of Oreo ice cream on the side. I think it would have been better if the crust itself was actually made with Oreo, and then some type of Oreo cream or thick pudding type of filling. Then just dabs of the plain white whip cream on the top along the back edge while keeping the minis on the rest of the top. That’s just my opinion.
Overall we would still definitely come back!
For entrées, the short rib and steak with truffle fries were both excellent and easily highlights of the night.
As good as dinner was, don’t skip dessert — the s’mores and apple pie are absolutely worth saving room for.
From food to service to ambiance, Sunness Supper Club is a clear winner for us. Looking forward to coming back soon.
My cocktail selection was a French 75 and it was perfection, the bar knows what it’s doing. The kitchen can do no wrong in my book. Everything was beautifully plated, and flavors were absolutely on point. Can’t wait to try more dishes, I will absolutely go again and again to Sunness.
So thrilled I found a local restaurant that hits all the wants!
