SAGRA Food and Wine was honestly such a great experience. Perfect spot for a cozy, more upscale date night in La Crosse without feeling overly formal. I ordered a seafood pasta with noodles I had never seen before, and it was incredible. Super fresh, perfectly cooked, and the flavor balance was just spot on. The drinks were top shelf and paired really well with everything we ordered for hors d’oeuvres. I even had the chance to meet the head chef Mitch, and you can immediately feel the passion and creativity he brings to the kitchen, just a genuinely great person who clearly cares about the food and the guest experience. Coming from the Twin Cities where I eat a variety of Italian, American, and Asian cuisines, this was easily some of the best I’ve had in a long time. Huge shout out to Mitch and the whole team, we’ll definitely be back.

Sagra is an Italian Eatery above Piggy’s on Front Street in La Crosse. It was recommended to us by several residents. It did not disappoint. We started with an Arancini appetizer. We have had arancini before, but NEVER like this. It’s the best we have ever had. Instead of being rice heavy, it was cheese heavy. They were almost like a Wisconsin cheese curd. The pecorino, a mixture of Italian cheeses, was melty and delicious, especially dipped in the buttermilk dipping sauce. We also ordered the special appetizer, fried wax beans. The breading was very light, almost like tempura. The dipping sauce added the flavor. They were good, but the Arancini definitely stood out. For entrees we got a crawfish dish and a chicken dish. Both were generous portions, which allowed us to have leftovers for lunch the following day. The Crawfish Fra Diavola was filled with crawfish and was very flavorful with fresh ingredients. The Chicken Scarpariello was delicious. The polenta was rich and creamy. The chicken comes bone in and skin on, which keeps it juicy. This dish also had Italian sausage and fresh vegetables. I really enjoyed the Italian sausage as a contrast to the chicken. The only disappointment was when we asked the waitress what 5 dishes were on the “chef’s market menu,” she didn’t know and really wouldn’t elaborate. I wanted to try that, but at $58 per person, the requirement for full table participation, and no information, I wasn’t willing to take the chance.

Reserved a table for a large group for a business dinner. The next day I had several of the attendees tell me what a wonderful experience they had. They mentioned the chicken in particular more than once! They said the service was amazing and the vibe was memorable. It was a perfect outing for them. The team also noted that Sagra needs to be our go-to place for any future dinners. That works for me! It’s not easy to find places that satisfy a variety of diners in a group, but Sagra hit the mark in all areas. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much!!

Visiting La Crosse for the weekend and went to SAGRA Food and Wine for dinner. Hands down, some of the best food I’ve had recently! The freshness of the ingredients and the unique flavors in the spring turnip salad were unforgettable. I had the half chicken with polenta and asparagus while my husband opted for the walleye milanese. Both were amazing! Staff were attentive and made our dining experience memorable. We will be back to sample more of the seasonally fresh menu options!

We went to this Restaurant because so many people were recommending me. So me and group of my friends (5 people) came a couple weeks ago on Thursday night 7 pm in the rainy day.
The lady server was so ignored us for a while . She only served us appetizers and food then fill our waters that’s all.
After we ordered everything. We got our drinks which were take for a while.
They appetizers were so good!!!
But all ours main food took soooooo long (1.30 hrs) we were talking and done with our drinks to killing the time.
Food is excellent! But time consuming and not great service for slow day.

Absolutely amazing experience! The menu never disappoints. Our server, Amber, was able to answer all of our questions in detail and was extremely attentive and kind. Fine dining experience with a much more calm/casual atmosphere. Sagra is by far our favorite in La Crosse. Will always recommend!

I discovered Sagra thanks to American Express and Resy. This is easily my absolute favorite restaurant in La Crosse, and the finest dining experience in the city. The food is incredible. Fresh, local ingredients and impeccably prepared. The menu is wonderful and has some outstanding, unique and delicious offerings. Great wine list, excellent cocktails and the root beer is a must try. Staff is amazing, classy and very attentive. Great for date nights, business dinners, or happy hour cocktails. A truly memorable experience and highly recommended.
