This was a Birthday meal for hubby I was utterly disappointed I booked
Appalling food do not buy…… Waste of money
We left after just a taste of the dish when the main meal came out
We ordered chicken satay it was Luke warm, satay sauce was stoggy no flavour came within 5 mins of the order being taken…. first red flag
The mains came with more disappointment
Again like warm…ordered coconut rice it was sweet rice that came no flavour of any coconut was even near this rice. The waitress said it’s a coconut sauce to be poured over the jasmine rice I was shocked by this comment but thought let’s give this a try
HUGE mistake ….
I ordered Thai green curry lol the worst I have ever tasted. The curry was watery it looked like soup with carrots no aromatics…what chef put carrots put carrots in Thai green curry lol
Ambiance was a joke noisy people coming in for takeaway and not even having the decency to be quite and wait outside and should be told by the staff to wait outside
Waitress … they all need training no sense of even being moderately pleasant
Dining area very old I would not call this a restaurant it’s old and needs a refresh desperately
I would never return here and surly will spread the word of the worst Thai restaurant ever
Poor quality food not worthy to be placed in your body
Just closes it down and stop selling poor quality food
And all the positive reviews here are complete lies
You were warned DO not come here and waste your money
Hungry jacks was the saviour as that’s where we had dinner
And I am a chef with many years experience and high level of cheffing skills this was truly horrendous .

Our first visit to this restaurant was truly unforgettable and exceeded all our expectations! I ordered the Pad Ki Mao, a perfectly balanced dish with a delightful combination of spicy, savory, and aromatic flavors that left me craving more. My husband opted for the Massaman curry, which was rich, creamy, and beautifully infused with the flavors of slow-cooked spices and tender meat. Every bite was a testament to the chef’s skill.

To finish off our meal, we chose the Sago in coconut milk with black beans. The dessert was a delightful surprise—light, sweet, and creamy with just the right hint of saltiness from the black beans, making it the perfect conclusion to an already exceptional meal.

The staff were genuinely warm and attentive, making us feel welcomed and valued throughout the evening. Their attention to detail, from the timing of the dishes to checking in without being intrusive, added to the overall positive experience. The restaurant’s ambiance was equally impressive, with its cozy and intimate setting that made it feel like dining in a charming colonial-era house. The unique decor and soft lighting created a relaxing and elegant atmosphere.

The seating was spacious and comfortable, allowing us to fully enjoy the meal without any rush. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into every detail, from the layout of the dining area to the overall design of the space.

Since that first visit, we’ve returned twice, and each time has been just as delightful. Booking a table in advance was easy, and the quality of the food and service remained consistently excellent. This restaurant has quickly become one of our favorite dining spots, and we look forward to returning again soon

Good experience but not great. Second visit to Sunata’s on Valentine’s evening and they were swamped with people and take away orders. Some people had to wait over an hour. Our food (dined in, reservation) was brought to us in dribs and drabs. Tom Kah and Beef Massaman Curry (needed more kick) were good and the wrapped duck was lacking a bit of flavour and will pass on that in future. The great thing about Sunata’s is that it is very affordable.

This is a nice local restaurant. The food is good, and the service is quick. The staff are friendly. This restaurant is always busy with takeaway orders and dine-in. Parking can be hard as it’s pretty busy.

Lovely place to enjoy some really tasty local Thai! A permanent go to location for a very well priced and serviced restaurant. Dine in or take away, the staff are very helpful and food is consistently amazing!

I went their with my family at 8:23 and they said kitchen is closing in 5 min, where as the site showed it will close it at 9 pm, they do not want us in the restaurant they were asking to order in just 5min after that they will not take our order. It was our first time in Thai restaurant and it was such a pathetic service in the beginning. I have worked in Hospitality Industry more than 18 years now and I know in and out of small and big hotels and restaurants services. If the owner is aware of this attitude the he need to be aware of her staff not accepting customers in the time frame of operation. I will never come again to such a place who doesn’t accept there customers in time frame of operation.

Pathetic staff.

This was not what was expected, the restaurant is so dilapidated it has not seen a paint brush in years, the menu is something from the 1980s and the staff look comical in their Asian themed skirts.

The drinks were served in unopened cans just plonked down on the table with the finesse of a drunken elephant, I can’t remember when I have seen drinks served with such disregard for the customer.

This bring me to the food, now whilst this is a small restaurant with limited resources I would expect a modicum of skill from a chef , this chef however had no skills and should not be anywhere near a kitchen.

The chicken satay sauce was bland with just a hint of peanut, the chicken that should have been seared was more poached.

The Thai Green Curry resembled a vegetable soup, no seasoning, no mushrooms, an over supply of carrots ( for some reason), green peas, it had clearly not been near a flame to provide it with some warmth and I’m sure it would have passed the chilly when it was being moved around the kitchen. At no point has the chef ever been trained or even consulted a recipe book to understand how to make a Thai Green Curry.

This brings me to what is the easiest dish to create, Rice! Yes the chef even managed to screw that one up, the coconut rice was just sticky jasmine rice with a sickly sweet white sauce (from a tin according to the waitress) poured all over it.

If you are thinking about going here please consider McDonalds or Hungry Jacks as the food there cooked by unskilled children is of a far superior quality than this place.

Obviously I am not recommending this restaurant by any stretch of the imagination.

Food is always so good here. Service wasn’t as good as other times I have been there. They were meant to be closing at 9pm and we arrived before 8pm they had tried to turn us away but another server came up and told us to take a seat anyway. Some servers had forgotten a few items people had ordered in the tables around us but our order seemed fine.

Was so disappointed today. Went with my sisters and partners and we ate in. It was 5.30pm so had just opened. I ordered our food first and all the other mains came out besides ours. We just got our rice. We were still waiting for our main when the rest of our table had almost finished eating over an hour later. I went and told them we were still waiting, but then 20 minutes later, we were still waiting. Still no food. As everyone was ready to leave, my sister went to tell them we were still waiting. We ended up getting it to take away because everyone had already finished sonwe would have been eating alone anyway. This is not what we wanted or I would have just stayed home and ate. I ordered a $3 steamed rice to take home with us because we didn’t want to eat the stir fry alone. You would think that after that awful experience, they would waive the $3, but nope. Although the food is nice, I don’t think we will return. Very unorganised and unprofessional.
