I’m writing this review with a heavy heart because I only just discovered Stockman’s Cafe, but at the end of the month (August, 2023) the wonderful owner is retiring and a new restaurant will take the place of this gem. As much as it makes me sad to not be able to have Stockman’s chicken fried steak and eggs anymore, I wish the owner well. I also wish that I had visited Stockman’s before I did, it’s that good.

Great place for breakfast and train watching with classic country home cooking goodness and super friendly service from owner Patty. Nice large thick, fluffy pancakes. We will be back again! Recommended.

Tucked away in a non-descript stockyard building, and needing GPS help to find, Stockman’s Cafe is just that: a cafe to service the local stockyard tradesmen and staff. Of course all folks are welcome and the wait staff and cooks are very friendly and attentive.
