This was a little gem I just randomly picked online. Everything inside was beautiful and smelled good. The service was amazing, check on us multiple times to make sure we were happy with what we ordered.

Brisket Sandwich was flavorless and bread was too dense and dry too many seeds and grains. Our pizza was burnt black and we did not enjoy the crust. French fries were good.

The Second time is always better. Steel & Rye has a great atmosphere and even better food. The oysters were soooo good, nice and fresh. The duck was flavorful. I enjoyed everything.

I live 10 minutes from this spot and decided to come here for breakfast and work at the same time ( the luxury of working remote). I got the cinnamon swirl coffee cake and the honey Graham latte with oat milk. The place was crowded but I was able to secure a parking spot and the lines were moving full speed. I instantly got my coffee cake and it was nice and moist and the latte was delicious. I could taste a hint of honey Graham and the temperature was just right. I would come back for lunch and a cocktail at the bar.

I got a caesar salad with egg and avocado and it was amazing! I received a generous amount of avocado and the dressing was really good too! the service was great, no one was too pushy and everyone was very friendly. the atmosphere is big and spacious and in the summer they open these big doors to let the breeze in. there is also outdoor seating! the prices are a bit high but I think it’s reasonable considering the vibe and location. there were a lot of families and kids there so it’s great for everyone! they also have some gluten free options & vegetarian alternatives. nice place!

The last time I ate here was close to 10 years ago. I didn’t like the food, and the service was lackluster. So I never returned. Recently, a friend of mine asked me to accompany them there for their bday. Based on my previous experience, I decided I wouldn’t order anything. The waiter was friendly, but the kitchen was behind. After some time, I ordered a glass of wine and fries. The fries were salter too salty and my friend was not satisfied with their meal either. Needless to say, 10 years later and I have the same outcome. I won’t be fooled a third time. Customers Beware!

I have finally made it to Steel and Rye for breakfast. The place has a very interested decor and you kind of expect the food to correspond to the atmosphere. They have a huge selection of flavored coffee drinks, but I decided to go with an oat latte and it was really good – rich and flavorful. I had an avocado toast with an egg and my friend ordered their eggs benedict for breakfast. The food arrived quickly, but we were both disappointed with it as my toast was pretty dry and tasteless, my friend’s Benedict was bland. Not sure if I would make a second trip to this place unless it is for their coffee.

One of the best restaurants in the Boston area, and certainly in the running for best pasta (which I highly recommend over any other entree on the menu). Punches way above the suburban weight class. The menu is pretty seasonal with a few staples that stick around all year. Great wine list. Worth checking out, even if it’s a little out of the way.
