Shout out to Preston and the rest of the crew for excellent service! If you’re a fan of garlic, look no further than the Garlic Double. Quite possibly my new favorite fast food sandwich (RIP Hardee’s Maple Bacon Frisco Double, you’ve been usurped). Aside from the delicious Garlic burger, the Frisco Double also hits the spot. Supremely sauced and perfectly melty. The fries are a thin-cut variety, plenty of crispness, and a nice savory flavor, presumably thanks to being fried in beef tallow. Service was quick. Placing my order at the speaker to receiving my food was under 4 minutes. Excellent experience as my first visit to this chain, will definitely be back.

Its 730 on Monday been in drive through at the voice box for goin on 20 min as of this review… still haven’t had order taken. Was told give us a minute 20 ago. Do not go here. If it’s this bad when they’re not busy, I cannot fathom being here during a rush. My son completely finished his meal before we got our icecream. They are supposed to be shakes, but there’s no way I’m getting lock jaw trying to use a straw. I had to go up there TWICE to ask for our shakes. They purposely ignored the people standing up front for 30 minutes. It took over 30 minutes to get our ‘drinks’ and it was dead in there. Literally, the less than 6 customers they had were all waiting an ungodly amount of time for their orders. No apologies, no sense of urgency, no damns given. I’m appalled and apetered. Just don’t go here. The fries were really good. My son said that they were great when they were hot. Unfortunately, I was up trying to get the shakes we ordered, so my food was already cold. The older lady cooking up front was not pleasant to the 2 men who dared ask her where their food was. They were polite, she was not. Fully staffed and dysfunctional is diabolical! I should not have stopped here.

My daughter didn’t get her cheese fries till our other 2 meals and we was almost done eating. Than we never got our milkshakes whole time we was there eating even though my husband went up there and told them when he told them about our daughter’s food. Than when asked talk manager she never came and was told 2nd time asked the manager was one making the shakes and she had make 8 shakes before came talk to us. She made people shakes that came in after us but not ours. She never came and talked to us, never got our shakes, and was never reimbursed for them. Money for 3 shakes down the drain. Whole reason we stopped there. We was there for 42 minutes from time ordered to time gave up and left.

I’ve had very good experiences at other Steak ‘n Shake restaurants. The one in Plainfield, Indiana, however, was a horrible experience and I will never be going there again. The lady at the drive-through was unbelievably rude. I ordered one cheeseburger. That’s it. It took about 10 minutes of me waiting at the window for her to show up with my burger. Not only what she wrote, but she never said thank you. Once I got back to work, I opened the box and it was soaked in grease. The entire burger, both sides of the bun were so like it had been dipped in a bowl of grease. Disgusting. I will never go back to this location again.

Trying to get a drink is ridiculous, took multiple times to scan a ticket to get it to work! then when forced to place our own order they have the nerve to ask for a tip, hmm I placed my own order, I had to get up to get my food then I had to clean up, Here’s the tip we won’t be back! I haven’t been inside a Steak ‘n Shake in some time (maybe 5 years), but this was definitely not how it used to be. There are no servers, you order at a kiosk, have to scan a barcode at a fountain to get your drink (which wasn’t exactly easy and took multiple scans to get it to work), and the food was not as good as it used to be. It took away from the experience that used it to be. It’s more like a modern fast food experience like McDonald’s. If that’s what you are looking for or expecting then you may enjoy it, but it wasn’t what we were expecting.

You have to order on machine then pick it up from a counter. The machine wanted a tip before we even got our food. we ordered no onion and everything came with it anyway they just said pick it off.
