Steak ‘n Shake, a classic American brand, was founded in 1934 in Normal, Illinois by Gus Belt who pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milkshakes. For over 85 years, the company’s name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word steak stood for steakburger. The term shake stood for hand-dipped milkshakes. Gus was determined to serve his customers the finest burgers and shakes in the business. Today, Steak ‘n Shake remains the better burger leader, serving premium 100% beef steakburgers, hand-dipped milkshakes, thin crispy fries, and more. Steakburgers are made without preservatives or artificial ingredients, topped with fresh produce, and always hand-crafted to order.

Great steak burgers and fries as usual. It’s different now no waitresses you do you’re ordering on a kiosk at the front and pay for it then just sit down wherever you want and they call your name and you walk up and get your food. Liked it better with waiters and waitresses, seems so impersonal now… Robotic.

IDK why I gave them a second chance. Went on a Sunday, and it wasn’t busy, but it was filthy. Since they eliminated their service staff, they totally neglect the front of the house. Tables, floor, booth dividers, and bathrooms were all disgusting. I was there for a couple of hours and not one employee came into the seating area.

The place was extremely clean, even the bathrooms. I am here from out of town and this made the travel much easier. My food was fresh and hot, and the wait wasn’t very long. The service is fast, I am glad that it is more fast food like now than dine in, lets you go at your own pace. It was slightly hard to hear our order number called at first, but they later started using a speaker.

I don’t know why I keep trying with this place. I grew up around a great location, but this one has been nothing but disappointing. The people seem moody or upset about something almost every time. I have yet to get a correct order from them- they literally upcharge me for stuff, then I don’t get it. They DON’T answer the phones at all. I think I’ve gotta let them go. That area is so busy it’s not convenient to drive back for something they messed up on. This means I usually pay for stuff I never get- feels like I’m being stolen from. (I will say Georgia still has MAGNIFICENT locations if you’re ever traveling through!)

Ordered on a computer. Didn’t interact with a human. The food was good. Place/ booth walls were a little dirty.

If I could give less stars I would. I’ve spent roughly 7 hours throwing up since I ate at Elizabethtown ky location. I hate your location with every fiber of my being and I can only hope something terrible happens.

A much improved experience over the mid-2010s and earlier. Although, it’s not thanks to improved staff but instead is for the improved ordering and self-service. Ordering and drinks are both self service now. So you’re not worried about someone taking a long time to take your order or get you a refill. The burgers are not dripping grease like they were years back, either. Fries are way too salty.

Our order was short an extra chicken strip. However, the guys fixed it with no problems. The drive-thru was very busy that day. I know things happen. Treat your servers with kindness, and they do the same. I will definitely go back.

I find the name misleading. I was expecting steak like in a cheese steak from Philadelphia and was greeted by just hamburgers. Just because it’s beef, doesn’t make it a “steak”. The hot dog I did order was very salty. I am hoping that that was an issue with the manufacturer and not the restaurant. The service was incredibly slow. Also,I understand that profanity is a fact of life and helps punctuate conversation. However, there’s a place and time for it. Cursing at the pick up counter loudly enough for me,a customer,to hear is completely inappropriate. The best I can say about my visit is that the restaurant was clean.

Food was decent but we waited over 30 minutes. We hadn’t been to this location in years due to poor service, all is automated now but the wait still felt excessive. Back to Freddy’s for us.
