The menu photos at this restaurant are extremely misleading. The Fresh Summer Roll is priced at $12.99, and the menu image clearly shows five full-sized rolls. Given the price, it is completely reasonable for customers to expect the portion shown. However, what we actually received was only three rolls, each cut into half, making the portion significantly smaller. If the dish truly consists of only three rolls, then $12.99 is outrageously overpriced. Such a drastic difference cannot reasonably be justified as a “reference image”.
When we politely raised this issue, one female staff member responded with a very rude and dismissive attitude. She insisted that there was a note stating the photos were for reference only and claimed that it was our fault for expecting the food to match the menu. She also repeatedly said she was not the one who took our order and pushed responsibility onto another staff member, instead of addressing the issue properly. Her attitude was defensive, unhelpful, and unacceptable.
We also ordered the papaya prawn salad, which again looked very different from the menu photo. More importantly, there was no mention anywhere on the menu or in the picture that the dish contains pork. In reality, the dish consisted mostly of pork, with only two prawns cut in half. This is misleading and potentially serious for customers with dietary restrictions.
Menu photos being “references” does not mean the actual food can be fundamentally different in portion size, quantity, or key ingredients. Transparency, value for money, and basic customer service were all lacking here.
Would not recommend, and I sincerely hope the restaurant reviews its pricing, menu representation, and staff training.
Decoration is quite alright but aircon not effective. Toilets hand wash ran out, water host holder was broken.
Am I being too critical? Hey it’s 10% service charge.
I am sure they can improve next time I come.
But what truly set this dining experience apart from the common rabble was the unwavering commitment to authenticity that seemed to permeate every aspect of the meal. From the delicate nuances of the spices to the very atmosphere itself, which seemed to transport me to the bustling streets of Hanoi, I was convinced that I had stumbled upon a veritable gem.
And as if the heavens themselves had ordained it, the meal was brought to a close with a dessert of surpassing sweetness – a generous serving of ice cream, proffered gratis with a graciousness that bespoke the very highest levels of hospitality. In short, my repast at this esteemed eatery was a veritable tour de force, a culinary odyssey that shall remain etched in my memory for many a year to come. Five stars, by Jove! I daresay, I shall be returning anon.
5/5 stars.
