I was expecting this place to be overhyped but it was absolutely not! It was soo good! The food and drinks were delicious! We did get there right before 5pm so we were the first ones to get a table so we knew the food was fresh and fast! Highly recommend getting there early as there was a long line that formed really quickly. Kids loved it! There’s such a great atmosphere and the servers were very kind. We had a great time and it’s honestly one of the better places we’ve eaten since being in Texas! Definitely worth the visit!

Get there early before they open, there will be a line. They seat slowly to not overwhelm the staff when they open, perfectly okay with that. Service was okay after that, no complaints other than our drinks stayed empty for a bit longer than normal but they were busy.
Margaritas were all good!
Brisket and queso was great, chips are great. We had the Chicken Fried Antelope w/ mashed potatoes and veggies and the Chicken Sandwich with sweet potato fries. Neither were great. The Antelope breading was great but antelope was pretty bland. Mashed potatoes was great, small portion, and the corn was very bland. Chicken was cooked well, there was an overwhelming amount of the goat cheese on it. Make sure you like the cheese if you order. Can’t say it was a bad sandwich, it just did not flow together. Sweet potato fries was very salty and barely warm.

We were on the wait list for nearly 4 hours. They send you a link and you can monitor the list from anywhere so we went back to our trailer and watched movies and played games while we waited.
It was New Year’s Eve and the wait was pretty crazy. When they finally called us we sat and ordered drinks. We also ordered the brisket queso which was quite tasty. The question was decent but the brisket added a nice taste. Wife’s beer took awhile to arrive and we had to remind them that she had ordered it. They brought me a tea that I didn’t order which was a little unusual.
Daughter got the chili burger. It was very large and she enjoyed it but couldn’t finish it. Son had eaten earlier so he just got chicken tenders as a bit of a snack but he said they were good.
Wife had country fried antelope which she said was really good and not gamey at all.
I had a standard cheeseburger which was cooked medium and was good.
They had live music as well which was nice to have something to listen to while we chatted and ate.

Really cool historic place. Plan to get here early to put your name on the list for dinner. No advance reservations. There’s an old jailhouse beside the place and a store with lots of things to temp you spend $.
The menu is broad, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding something you like. I had qual and my wife had brisket tacos ( bring a big appetite for the tacos – 3 large ones).
Our waitress was excellent. She was very attentive and met all of our needs.

Really cool atmosphere. Food was fine but really appreciated the live music and great service. The wait can get very long. We showed up at 4:30pm, 30 min before they opened and there was already a line. After we put in our names, it was probably still a 45min wait until our table was ready. The hostess told us the wait can easily get up to 3hrs so Just keep that in mind if you plan eating here.

There’s something magnetic about Terlingua — a place where the desert feels endless, the sky seems larger than life, and time slows down just enough to notice every detail. My visit began wandering through dusty streets and historic ruins, surrounded by the wild beauty of West Texas and the spirit of travelers who never quite seem to leave. As evening settled in, I made my way to the legendary Starlight Theatre Restaurant & Saloon, where live music, good food, and stories from across the desert come together under one roof. It was the perfect welcome to this quirky corner of the Chihuahuan Desert — equal parts history, community, and adventure.

We were so nervous after hearing about the 4-hour wait times, but we arrived about 30 minutes before opening and only waited 45 minutes. Totally worth it! The place was so cool, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was impeccable. Prices were very reasonable. There was even a live band playing, but it wasn’t too loud and we could still talk. The brisket was amazing!

Arrive early (or late) or wait for a table, but it’s worth it. We went Friday night around 7 and it was a two hour wait, we came back Saturday late and were sat pretty quickly a few songs before the live music concluded. The food is fantastic, don’t sleep on the quail with the blueberry sauce… Who knew! Great service, fun atmosphere. It’s a good sized place but it gets busy so plan accordingly. Parking is easy with a large dirt parking lot, I mean it is a ghost town right? We split the mixed grill and it was plenty for two.

This place seems legendary around here. It does have fun live music and the food seems to reflect the area. We stayed at the Big Bend Holiday Inn, which is owned by the same family and we walked over for dinner. There was an hour 45 min wait but we could go back to our room. We also had margaritas and chips/salsa/guacamole at the patio while we waited. Every night we were there, there was a long line, and cars everywhere.
I had the brisket plate.
