The Baseline
The Baseline: For a Chicken restaurant you need to have good quality chicken, good sides, good sauce/rubs, and preparation of all ingredients.
Food: I had the Big Star Chicken Sandwich which was big, meaty, and tasty. The bread for the buns was light and airy. The breading on the chicken was well spiced and adhered to the Brest meat well leaving the meat moist and juicy. The elote bowl was a cold prepared grilled corn with a combo of herbs, cheese, and lime juice that made it very tasty. The chicken tenders were also well prepared like the sandwich but treated the tender cut just as juicy well. The sauces are a nice accompaniment to the food. The fries are “bag fries” but are still well prepared and not over-saturated with oil during the fry. Sodas were from Alameda Soda Company and had the Hangar 25 cola and Old Fountain cream soda (liked it the best). Will come back for the food.
Service: Great service at the restaurant and the manager, Don, was super friendly and was happy to help me with my meals tonight. Made sure I was well taken care of. You can order directly from the Starbird App so you can earn sweet free food by accumu
Ambiance: Great location in Marina Del Rey with inside and outdoor patio seating. Order kiosk was easy to use.

Food is good. Takes a while to cook but the wings are crunchy. I’d skip the lemon as it tastes way too sour.But overall good place to get fried chicken. Def better than KFC and raising canes.

Great experience at Starbird Chicken in Marina del Rey! I have serious food allergies, and Carol (the GM) was so kind and thorough about making sure my order was safe. She double-checked everything and made me feel completely taken care of.
I didn’t love the wings so I tried a recommendation from one of my favorite influencers. The nuggets/tenders were delicious and the service was excellent. I really appreciate how seriously they handle allergy concerns. Highly recommend!

Overall cute and bright restaurant.
Service was very helpful and helping me to decide my side .
I have three pieces of chicken and fries. I had the blaze and ranch sauce which really taste like ranch Tabasco, and the honey mustard which is a really good sauce. . I think for fries and for chicken you should get at least three sauces..
The chicken is five stars, perfectly juicy flavorful crispy, just great breading . I don’t understand why people eat canes when places like this exist..
The fries were mid- like 3 stars, still better than canes.

Chicken sandwich is great! Truffle fries… not so great. They were sitting in a heap of oil, and I mean a right proper puddle of oil. We couldn’t even finish them. 1 star fries because of the excess oil. I’m not one to scoff at a little oil, but this was just ridiculous. I “wrung out” a fry to make it edible and it thoroughly soaked the napkin. It was basically one napkin a fry just to make my fries edible. Oh, and the Japanese chicken sandwich was great, too.

Super dry boneless chicken wings. Over breaded, stiff and dry meat, too salty. The garlic aioli turned out to be garlic butter not mayo? Making it super greasy. Sauces are under whelming. One of the worst fries I’ve had lately – not fresh, dry, stiff, no flavor.
Drinks are good.
The Nashville chicken sandwich – flavors are good, but again too much breading. Took a few bites to get to the meat.
The staff seem overall inexperienced. When I asked them if perhaps they gave me nuggets instead of boneless wings since they’re so dry, they couldn’t really give me a clear answer or just chose to ignore me.
The ambience is nice, good decor. I had higher hopes for them. Perhaps other locations would be better?

Ordered boneless wings, got home, opened the box—plot twist: they’re just chicken breast disguised as wings . Not a wing in sight. Too far to go back, so I guess I’m just eating my feelings tonight.

Best fried chicken I’ve had in a very, very long time!
Starbird (I had never heard of them before) opened 4 days ago in the Marina and I finally got there today. It is in a very convenient spot with tons of free parking.
When a restaurant is mobbed…it is a great recommendation already. And it was constantly mobbed. Their chicken is crispy outside and tender and juicy inside, very, very yummy. And not greasy! The salad was very tasty and very fresh. The french fries were steaming hot and crispy, with just the right amount of salt…I’m getting hungry again just writing this and thinking back about my meal.
The staff was super-friendly and super helpful, two things that are very much appreciated these days! They were also super-efficient: from order to a ready meal it was only a couple of minutes!
I also loved the fact that you can take a picture of your meal and post it and they donate a meal to the Regional Food Bank—I think that is just awesome. And each table has the sign with the QR code to make it quick and easy for you to post.
All in all, I loved this place! It’s a definite keeper and I will be coming back a lot. I can’t recommend it enough…go try it out!!!

Omg what a great experience. Walked over to this place after it was recommended by the workers at UPS and I was really pleasantly surprised. Beautiful place, clean, easy to order and everything looked inciting. We ordered and our food was ready within <5 mins and they even gave us free lemon garlic tenders to try! The staff is really amazing!!! Y’all gotta try this!
