Ordered off-menu pho with filet mignon and tendon, which was delicious. The meat was tender, and the soup was tasty and at just the right temperature. You place order at the counter and pay up front before finding a table by yourself. Overall, while the food was good, I found the price to be a bit high for the service that you get.

I loved this place. It was my go to. I hate the new management / ownership and their decision to make it vegetarian only, the wasabi aioli salmon rolls were a favorite. I loved the recipes here and had tried every new menu item they added until ownership changed. I gave it a shot and still tried the vegetarian options, the only one that didn’t change was the green bun bo hue which in my opinion is still delicious but the only thing id actually order here. Star anise went from my favorite restaurant to one I won’t visit again. I wish I knew where the original owners went, I’d definitely follow

Pho was average as was the Vietnamese sandwich . The filet mignon was over cooked and the noodles were not cooked enough. However, they had Plenty of seating in and out with ample parking area as well. The decor was pleasant as was the overall ambiance but it’s highly unlikely we will be returning…not because the food was terrible, but simply it’s out of the way and not worth it.

Remarkably tasty grilled chicken, easily the best I’ve had in the Bay Area. Amazingly flavorful. Perfectly cooked, over easy egg. Fresh salad. Also tried the mao bao, pork belly. That was also insanely delicious. A surprisingly fabulous find for great Vietnamese food!

Decided to try this place on a whim. Pork Belly Bao and Pork Taro egg rolls were killer. The Bao was a perfect blend of rich savory belly and fresh veggies. The egg rolls were perfectly cooked and the sauce beautifully complements the egg roll. Onto the entrees we had filet/tendon ball pho and the grilled rice plate with the korean short rib. The broth of the pho had such a clean flavor and the tendon balls were great. The grilled rice plate was amazing. A nice refreshing citrus kale salad, beautifully prepared korean short rib and rice topped with a perfectly fried egg. After the meal we tried their boba. We ordered Thai Tea with coffee and Jasmine Green Tea. The thai tea was the right amount of bitter and sweet adding a nice tang to wake you up at the end of a meal. The Green Jasmine was very fragrant and helped settle my stomach after eating so much delicious food lol. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Prices are about average for the area but well worth it. I highly recommend this place if you’re in the area.

Authentic vietnamese cuisine. We had ordered shaken tofu, chicken bahn mi and spicy green hue pho. Was blown over by shaken tofu to be honest. Highly recommended. Chicken bahn mi was something I tried for the first time. Worth a try.
