The raviolis were delicious and smothered in sauce. I wish they had the appetizer portion slightly larger for the raviolis. Our server told us it came with 8-12, but my cheese ones came with 6. I highly enjoyed the fish and chips. It was crispy. My husband said it was too greasy for his taste. Finally, the eggs Benedict was good, but not my favorite. I liked the fish and chips and the raviolis so much, I would definitely return!
First of all, I absolutely loved the atmosphere in here. The restaurant has an interesting story if you have a minute to read it (with its history going back to the Revolutionary War) and I cannot really complain as we were put into a quiet room. The food I would say was also pretty decent, I ordered fish and chips and I would say they were great. We also had nachos, which were pretty good, possibly some of the best I had.
The only reason I cannot give this place 4-5 stars right now though is that I do have a complaint about the service. We requested for nachos as an appetizer, but for whatever reason, the server brought them with dinner instead which made having nachos a bit strange. We also asked them to please bring us lemons for our water, while they did say they would bring them over, we didn’t get them until maybe almost the end of our dinner. We noticed the server tending to other tables though which was a bit rude. Another server came over to us and we requested the same thing, but they completely vanished and I don’t think we saw that server again for the rest of our dinner. We had to request to the server again about the lemons, and while they did bring them over, they seemingly gave us a little bit of a tone and came off as annoyed.
I would come back and I am willing to give this place a better review in the future, but right now, I would be lying if I didn’t say I was a bit disappointed with the service.
We shared a bottle of Valdo Prosecco, per our server’s recommendation.
We got separate appetizers. Since childhood and the days of Michael’s in Asbury Park, I have loved steamers. These were meaty, and seasoned in butter. Only thing I missed was the bowl of clam broth to clean, and then the butter dip. But I get modern times, it’s ok. My friends shared the hearty portion of spinach and artichoke dip without complaint.
The entrees were excellent, and served hot.
I thought the perfectly grilled salmon, served on mushroom risotto, with spinach and mushroom sauce, was a unique, and outstanding dish with a lovely presentation. I heard no complaints from my friends with the fried variety of the salmon dish, or the tacos.
Nicely done Stage House!
Cobb salad with salmon was huge! Turkey club was great, not coldcuts but roasted turkey.
The small room had just 4 tables and was noisy at the lunch hour.
I look forward to checking out their patio dining & weekend live music.
