Let’s start with the food:
Boiled Fish in Chili Oil
The chili oil looked impressive, but the fish itself had absolutely no flavor.
It honestly tasted like the fish had just been boiled in plain water and then someone poured a bowl of oil on top at the end.
All oil, no seasoning. The fish was also very soft and mushy.
Crispy Duck with Taro Paste
The name sounds rich and complex, but the actual dish was extremely simple:
A huge plate of taro paste with literally two small strips of duck.
And the duck wasn’t fresh — it had a strong gamey smell that made it really hard to eat.
Dry-Fried Green Beans
This was the only dish that was somewhat edible.
Twice-Cooked Pork
We added this dish after we had already ordered. By the time it arrived, we had basically finished everything else.
We waited another 15 minutes for it. The flavor was very consistent though: salty, tough, and overloaded with chili bean paste.
Rice
The menu said Thai jasmine rice.
But what we got tasted more like brown rice — coarse, dry, and nothing like the soft, fragrant texture jasmine rice should have.
Now the service:
One of the female servers was very friendly and smiling the whole time with the foreign customers. But when it came to us, her expression immediately turned cold. When we left, she didn’t even look at us. Yet the very next second she was smiling and warmly saying goodbye to the foreign customers at the next table. That kind of obvious difference in treatment was really uncomfortable.
Overall summary of this meal:
Bad food, bad service, and an unpleasant experience.
This is the first restaurant in Las Vegas that made me feel like I had to go out of my way to post a warning.
I’d honestly suggest choosing carefully. We definitely won’t be coming back.
We came for their signature Peking Duck, along with several other dishes, and every plate exceeded expectations.
⸻
Peking Duck
The star of the meal. The aroma alone makes you hungry the moment it arrives.
• The skin is perfectly crispy without being overly oily,
• The meat is tender, juicy, and flavorful,
• Paired with cucumber, scallions, and sweet bean sauce, each wrap is simply delicious.
The steamed pancakes were soft, warm, and just the right thickness—easy to wrap and wonderfully chewy. We ended up making wrap after wrap because the balance of flavors was so satisfying.
⸻
Duck Fried Rice
Made from the remaining duck meat, this fried rice was a standout.
The rice is fluffy and not greasy, with a rich duck aroma throughout.
It’s the perfect finishing dish—and honestly something I would order on its own next time.
⸻
Spicy Fish Fillet (Shui Zhu Yu)
A bold and flavorful Sichuan-style dish.
Despite the fiery red broth, the heat is balanced with deep aromatics and savory richness.
The fish is soft and delicate, absorbing the flavors beautifully.
⸻
Mapo Tofu
A classic done right.
The peppercorn aroma and numbing heat are present but not overpowering, and the tofu is silky with a hearty, spicy sauce. Perfect with rice.
⸻
Dry-Fried Green Beans
Crispy on the outside yet tender inside, with garlic and chili flavors that make this dish incredibly addictive. A great side that balances the meal.

Overall
Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. The Peking Duck was easily one of the best we’ve had in Las Vegas—crispy, juicy, and beautifully served. Combined with the elegant plating and generous portions, Spring by China Mama is a spot we’d gladly return to.
Highly recommended for groups, family dinners, or anyone looking for an elevated Chinese dining experience in Vegas.
The famed spring rolls lived up to their reputation, perfectly crisp, piping hot, and deeply satisfying.
The hot and sour soup struck a beautiful balance of tangy heat and comfort, while the Kung Pao was an absolute standout: bold, vibrant, and expertly executed.
The calamari and Dan Dan noodles were enjoyable but felt like they were just one note away from greatness.
Still, the overall experience was excellent, and Alex’s hospitality elevated the meal from good to truly delightful.
Honestly, I think it’s even better than the original China Mama. There was no wait, the service was super friendly, and the interior is really cute and modern. Definitely one of my new go-to spots for Chinese food!
Bathroom: Very clean and comfortable! Only thing was that the toilet flushed weird/slow.
Atmosphere: Beautiful! I have bigger hips, so the seats squished a bit, but my waist was fine fitting. Comfortable and beautiful in general, though! Highly recommend!
