What an unexpected stop in Metamora. I actually went out to find breakfast and thought a different restaurant in another town would be open but was disappointed. I checked Google and found the Country Charm Cafe. I thought it strange I hadn’t noticed it on my handful of trips through the town.
When I got there I realized it doesn’t have the best signage. I had driven by it several times with no idea it existed.
But I am glad I stopped. I had a burger and their in-house-made onion rings and I was very impressed.
The burger was solid, though nothing crazy. But the onion rings? Top notch. Thick cut and dipped in batter and deep fried to perfection. Be warned, however… they are basically and entire meal on their own. They are huge.
Definitely worth the stop if you’re coming through the area. Especially if you like onion rings.
I will be back. They have hand-battered mushrooms on the menu as well and I am keen on trying them.

What a darling little shop. It reminds me of a locally owned diner back home. Food was delicious and was served very quickly. Staff were all super friendly and personable. I wish all workers I encounter would be like them. They were quick, had great attitudes, and even told me a little about the place. The owner (I’m assuming) came out and said hello to some regulars. What a wonderful to witness. Pricing was fantastic. Offering the lost option of building onto your order or ordering light. Perfect for the elderly, young children, the waistline watcher, or just general light eaters.
Bonus points for the neat collectable clocks and unique artwork all over the walls adding to the homey charm.

This charming small-town spot consistently delivers! Both the food and service are always on point. I highly recommend everything on the menu, though my personal favorite is the Turkey Reuben.

Great, quiet little diner. Always friendly service and amazing people. Everything about their food feels like home! Including their homemade pies, cinnamon rolls and pecan rolls. Not to mention a great price! Both breakfast and lunch are always perfect.

Crazy fast service and great prices. Usually, Steak and Eggs gets you a piece of meat that isn’t fit for the bottom of a shoe. This was tender and tasty!
Great job!

Great local family dinner. Have been going here since I was a kid. The local tradition to eat here after church on Sunday. There is a rush on Sundays from church so if you want a table between 9:30-10:30 & 11:30-12:30 you will want to arrive outside of these times. Only critique would be move spacing between tables but there is only so much space available being a smaller well-liked dinner.
