Cute restaurant with great tasting pizza. I am a pizza connoisseur and this pie is one of the best in York. I got the Queen pizza (basil, fresh mozzarella, olive oil) and it was very good. Crust was crispy and lightly charred (wood fired) which I love. Would definitely come back another time to try other food on menu. Service was great and waiter was friendly. They have a bar too.

What a gem! Both me and my husband had Brotherly Love Hash and Apricot Beignets and we were very impressed. The amount of food is very generous, so even if it seems pricey it’s worth every penny. Coffee was good, and services was lovely. Atmosphere is 10/10 as well. Colorful and bright.

If brunch was crafted by unicorns, they definitely set up shop at Roost Uncommon Kitchen in York! From the moment we sat down, our exceptional waitress and mixologist extraordinaire, Maliyah, sprinkled magic into the morning. She didn’t just take care of us—she choreographed a full-on brunch adventure.Let’s talk drinks: the spicy Bloody Mary came out like a firecracker in a glass—bold, perfectly balanced, and downright invigorating. Then came the espresso martini—smooth, velvety, and strong enough to make me feel like I could conquer both the day and the dance floor. As for the food, the blue crab omelet was so delicate and rich it could pass for a seaside treasure. The spicy avocado toast was refreshingly bright with just the right kick, the kind of toast that makes you wonder why you ever settled for boring breakfasts before. And the hashbrowns? Utterly otherworldly. Crispy, golden on the outside, pillowy on the inside—like little potato triangle miracles that make every forkful an encore. Roost isn’t just a meal—it’s a brunch experience that leaves you smiling long after the last sip and crumb. Huge thanks to Maliyah for making the whole visit sparkle. Five enthusiastic stars, and a promise to return with an even bigger appetite!

Came for the pizza. Stayed emotionally changed by the Caesar salad.
Whoever is making that in-house dressing deserves a raise. It’s the only restaurant version I’ve had that holds a candle to my homemade.
And yes — the pizza delivers. Sourdough crust that’s light and crispy, not floppy. Mozzarella, ricotta, and grana padano done right. The white pizza easily rivals anything in the area.
Add a fun atmosphere and genuinely nice staff, and you’ve got a place that’s not just hype — it’s legit.

Archetype Pizza in York is a fantastic spot. The grandma-style thin crust is absolutely delicious—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly done. The white pizza with ricotta is also excellent: rich, balanced, and incredibly tasty.

The drinks are just as good, and it’s a great bonus that they use Thistle Finch products from Lancaster, which adds a thoughtful local touch. A wonderful place for great pizza, great drinks, and quality ingredients. Highly recommend.

Such a fun place to come for a meal! The vibe of this place is great! My daughters loved the jukebox. The fun thing was it seemed that everyone was just enjoying what was being played. The food was fantastic!!! I had the root scramble Skillet and it was filling and warmed me up. My daughters ordered a couple of their specialty coffee cold and I think they would have preferred that they ordered them hot. Overall come here and enjoy amazing brunch or pizza!

Friends and I went last weekend got pep and honey pizza and it was amazing as well as the honey sriracha wings and garlic and parm wings. We did get the margarita like pizza it was very saucy without much flavor but with a little salt it was ok. We also got the house rub for another order of wings, didn’t have much flavor we definitely preferred the other ones we got. We love the atmosphere her but the service is never great. nobody acknowledges that your waiting for a table and will go past you with letting you know if there is availability or an open table. And we didn’t have anyone come up to our table while we were eating so we didn’t have water for most of the meal. But the bartender was very sweet and had amazing energy. We can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu.!!

I’ve been coming here for a few months and love to Doordash for my Friday work. I cannot recommend them enough. The Caesar Chicken Sub is to-die for – they make their own bread, breading for the chicken and caesar dressing and you can definitely tell. Their customer service is amazing. If you’re in York, you have to stop by!

I called in for take out. I ordered the Detroit Style Pizza with Ricotta Dallops and Vodka Sauce. Let’s start with the positive. The service has always been absolutely fantastic everytime I come to Roost or Archetype. From the ordertaker on the phone to the bartender where you pick up the pizza or the server that greets you when you come in the door, everyone is so nice and sweet. I very much appreciate that. Now for the pizza. It was $21.00 and some change so total with my tip was about $26.00. This pizza was so small. It looked like a personal pan pizza. It measures roughly 10 inches long and 8 inches wide. I was expecting a big pizza for $21.00. It was extremely salty. Like to the point that it was inedible. I was so sad and disappointed by this, but didn’t want to waste my money so I tried to combat the excessive saltiness by sautéing some onions and peppers with a touch of oil and lemon juice and diluting the Ricotta with a combo of milk/water and a drizzle of olive oil and black pepper. It did help a little. I am assuming this was an accident on the part of the pizza shop. That somehow someone spilled or dumped salt into the cheese or something that made it taste this way. I dont know if every part of the pizza was salty and that is what made it excessive. The crust was nice and crunchy so I don’t think that was the issue and the vodka sauce by itself was salty but I don’t think it was abundantly salty so I am guessing it was in the cheese (either Mozzarella or Ricotta). Wherever it was, it was way too much and I like salt. I don’t think you should have to do that much altering of a purchased food item just so you can eat it and not have to pitch it the trash can and waste money by doing so. 🙁 Update 1/24/26: As stated in the very beginning of this review, the staff is amazing and they want to make every experience a great one. I was contacted by Jordan. He has rectified the situation, which was not expected but very much appreciated. So, I will return as they truly take customer service to heart. Thank you, Jordan.:)

This was such a great find for us in York! They have a whole plant based menu and their food was absolutely delicious! Their plant based pizza with sausage and plant based chop cheese were so good! Their staff was so kind and fun. We’ll def be making this a regular spot when we’re here.
