We’ve visited this location, as well as other locations, several times. The Bang Bang Shrimp is always a staple and consistently good. This location does get busy on weekends, so reservations are recommended. We enjoyed the outdoor seating area and the added touch of cornhole, and we appreciated that there is a kids’ menu available.
One drawback during this visit was the presence of bees around our table, which made eating outside uncomfortable at times. Service was acceptable but not especially attentive, particularly given that it was a weekday and not very busy. In our experience, service here can be hit-or-miss depending on the time of day and the server.
We did enjoy the fun touch of complimentary buttered popcorn at the entrance, along with the décor and overall vibe of the restaurant. However, we found ourselves having to go inside multiple times to request water refills and ask for a to-go box, which took away from the experience. Outdoor tables still need the same level of attentiveness as those inside.
Overall, the food was decent and the experience was satisfactory, but it didn’t quite wow us. We’d consider returning if we were already in the area, though it wouldn’t be a top destination for us.

Friendly server who graciously attended to our every request. We ordered appetizers and drinks off the happy hour menu. The ribs were large, sticky and perfectly flavored, Mac and cheese was creamy, truffle fries generous and Rueben sliders outstanding! Mocktails were so flavorful and pretty they were a delight. The medium rare steak was perfectly cooked. Place was busy on Friday night but our table still felt relaxing and we could hear each other over the conversations around us. Highly recommend for a girls night out, date night or family dinner.

I had a meeting in Katy and stopped in at Federal American Grill for lunch with a group of eight. It was busy, but not overly crowded, and we were still able to get seated right away, which made everything easy and stress-free. Even with a larger group, we were able to comfortably talk around the table without straining over background noise — a big plus for a meeting setting.
The food was very good, and I especially appreciated how accommodating they were. It was a Friday during Lent, and they kindly removed the bacon from my salad and added salmon instead without hesitation. It’s always nice when a restaurant is flexible and makes adjustments so effortlessly.
The décor is one of the highlights — it has a fun whiskey theme with lots of clever quotations on the walls that give the space personality. It feels polished but relaxed at the same time.

My wife and I finally had our first visit to Federal American Grill. We were greeted by the manager opening and holding the door open for us. Once inside and seated, our waitress was at our table in less than a minute. (I noticed this was true, with the couple that came and sat at a table next to us too)
We got our drink orders and then a basket of homemade sour dough rolls (biscuits) was at our table. These were great biscuits and the jelly & butter were out of this world.
My wife had the Caesar Salad with grilled chicken. The salad was fresh & crisp and the chicken, was seasoned and grilled to perfection.
I had the sticky ribs. The ribs were fall off the bone and great. The sticky sauce was a nice mixture of sweet and spicy. Definitely going to get them again.
Great food, matched with great service.
My only negative comment, which did does not affect my rating. Is the table top was loose. It wiggled around and moved any time you cut anything or even just by spreading the butter and jelly on the biscuits. I noticed the couple sitting next to me commented on the same issue with their table top.

We had our sons wedding rehearsal dinner at the Federal American Grill. It was a hit!! Kaia was wonderful setting up the tables and event room for us to decorate! Christopher and Gabe were excellent serving us! Everyone really liked the truffle chicken, salmon, the cocktails & mock tails were great! We had an amazing time and plenty of memories were made!!

Came here for a weekday business lunch meeting. Very happy with the service, food, and overall experience! Cheeseburger egg rolls sound crazy but they were delicious and so was the bang bang shrimp. Very nice interior somewhat upscale. Staff was very professional and attentive. Would definitely recommend!

This place was amazing. I always have my reservations about restaurants, but I was pleasantly surprised. The drinks were amazing, I the basic Old Fashion, and it was very well made and tasted amazing. The Caesar salad was divine, and for the main course I had the salmon. It was a little overcooked for my preference, but it made up for it in flavor. The meal as a whole was very good. It was quite expensive, but I would say that it’s worth it. The staff was amazing, and took very good care of us. I would recommend this place for anyone that is looking for a higher quality meal for date night or some great quality cocktails. Highly recommended!

The devil is in the details! The ambiance was great so I was pleased with that. Some small items for management: a waiter poured my husband’s drink but it wasn’t his. A small polite question asking if that’s the drink he ordered could have prevented the mishap. But the drink belonged to someone else in our party. I ordered surf and turf and I did enjoy my meal. I ordered a cup of decaf coffee and I didn’t need to know that the waiter needed to brew it. A good waiter would have just brought some sugar along with my coffee. But instead, I had to search for sugar. While there are much larger things in life to worry about, when you’re out with friends you want great service on every level, especially since we don’t go out and splurge very often.
