What a great spot! I sat on the outdoor patio, with the ocean directly in front of me. Was very sunny and light breeze to begin with. When the wind changed, they said we could move inside and they also offered to put down the sides of the patio (plastic shades for protection) which I thought was nice. Inside was welcoming, nice and bright. Small bar, clean restrooms. I think I heard them say they’d done some remodeling. They’ll do great! Waitress was very friendly and chatty. I’d go again.

Not a good experience. $34 for lobster roll and it was not good. Dry. Asked for butter to dunk – butter was cold. Ask for mayo to make a better sandwich- Mayo was warm. pic is fish taco- still cold in the middle.

Restaurant was fine for breakfast. Food was good but a little plain. We were there in October so it is understandable that the porch seating had plastic covers over the open air area bit they could have been in better condition. The tables were slat tables and you could see piled up old crubs in the slats. That was a bit gross.

What’s better than a great breakfast… one where you are right on the beach watching the waves come crashing in, dogs frolicking and kids playing in the surf.

Low quality oil used for their food. Everything tastes cheap.
This place has one undeniable strength: the view of Ogunquit Beach is absolutely breathtaking. You can sit right by the water and enjoy one of the most beautiful coastal panoramas anywhere in the area. If this review were based on scenery alone, it would easily be a five-star rating.

Unfortunately, everything else falls far below that standard.

The food quality is extremely disappointing, especially considering the prices. The breakfast items taste cheap, and the waffles in particular were some of the worst I’ve tried. They had an unpleasant flavor clearly coming from the low-grade oil they were cooked in, which made the whole dish nearly inedible. It’s not just the waffles—everything from the sides to the beverages feels like it was made with the lowest-cost ingredients possible.

Even the basics show the same lack of care: the plates are flimsy, the napkins feel like tissue paper, and the cups are the kind you’d expect from a budget cafeteria rather than a restaurant charging premium prices. It’s a mismatch that leaves you wondering where your money is going, because it certainly isn’t going into food quality or presentation.

The staff doesn’t add much to the experience either. They weren’t particularly friendly or welcoming, almost as if they know the view alone will bring customers in regardless of service or quality. And honestly, that’s exactly how the place feels: a business that relies on owning a prime piece of property rather than offering an experience worth returning for.

In the end, I can only recommend this spot if you want to enjoy the view and don’t care about the food. Otherwise… I’d only suggest it to someone I’m not very fond of.

It goes without saying but the entire staff at Splash make it worth going (Tracey, Evan, Avery etc). It’s newly renovated and incredibly comfortable inside (the AC is a royal reprieve on a long summer day). It’s hard to argue that it’s the best beachfront restaurant in Ogunquit as it’s the only beachfront restaurant in Ogunquit! You cannot beat the view. Experiencing the waves crash against the deck makes you feel like you’re on the edge of the world. Can’t beat it. Pro Tip: it can get busy – but your patience is well rewarded once you’re seated. Live music in the summer is a plus.

I took the fish tacos, it was a big plate. It was wrap size tacos ! I was full after only one taco. The patio has a nice view on the beach. It was really busy on a Saturday afternoon on low season (mid October). The service was really good though, the waitress was nice. When I got there they told me it would take some time before she takes my order because they are only 2 waiters. The wait time was reasonable, I was expecting it to take longer because of the advertisement. The food is affordable but the drinks are expensive (12$ for a drink) and they don’t put the drinks price on the menu.

I have loved Splash for more than a decade. It’s been a go-to easy breakfast staple that we’ve recommended to many friends and family. However, on our last visit to Splash were treated horribly. The hostess went to get our table ready and a waitress barged out and snapped at us “you need to wait outside so people can ACTUALLY get through!” Mind you we were not blocking any door nor were we told where we should be waiting. She was SO rude!

After being seated we were in the most awkward table barely able to sit our family even when many other roomier tables were available. The food is mediocre at best. The waitress we had was absolutely lovely though. All in all though, there are much better places in OGT and we won’t be back unless that horrible waitress is gone.

Splash Bar & Grill is RIGHT on the beach, and for that reason alone, they get a five star review.

After a mediocre breakfast and poor service at the breakfast restaurant at our hotel, we decided to try someplace else and were excited to find someplace right on the beach in the Splash Cafe! And better still, there wasn’t a wait! The food was and service were fine… a step up from the previous day… but our overall experience was fantastic due to location.

They have booze as well and I’m still kicking myself for not ordering a Bloody Mary, haha. But if you’re looking for a place to eat breakfast in Ogunquit… you have to experience this beachfront location.
