Spirits Food & Friends is a great spot with an awesome vibe. The burgers were juicy and delicious, definitely some of the best I’ve had. The live music made the atmosphere even better, and the service was friendly and attentive. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend for a fun, relaxed night out!

I started off the night with the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls and the Crawfish beignets! Very tasteful and quick delivery to our table. These are the more popular appetizers that people choose so these are constantly being made FRESH!
Main courses were the Tracey’s Chicken x the Atlantic Salmon. I paired my chicken dish with potatoes au gratin. My friend paired with the sweet potato mash. I think salmon dish was a better choice, based on flavors, texture and the flavor profile. Also, it’s more of an original dish that I never experienced so that was great! The chicken dish worked out very well. The chicken could have been a little hotter but you would run the risk of drying out the meat. Also, the presentation was enjoyable as well.
The overall experience was decent, but it could have been better. Maybe I didn’t come on the correct night.. who knows… My waiter was excellent, but the energy of the place wasn’t popping enough. Guess that’s what I get for coming later than most..
I’ll be back again for a more immersive experience. Stay on top with Rock⚔️ ️

Ms. Rachel was our waitress and cocktail provider. She was so friendly. The hummus she recommended for our starter really kicked off the meal. Her drinks were delicious and refreshing. Her cucumber Gin and Tonic was a sparkling surprise that went really well with my perfectly barely seared Tuna steak with grilled pineapple and jasmine rice with a wasabi honey sauce that could have been drunk. My honey got a steak that was cooked just how we like it: RARE. YUM! NOT TOO SALTY. I hate a good piece of meat that is ruined by over salting. I loved the layout of the outside eating area with all of the flowers and the super groovy music. They had Townes Van Zandt, Merle Haggard, and Tyler Childers playing over the speakers. It is by far the best dining experience I’ve had in a long time. I usually end up regretting going out and wish I had just cooked at home instead of wasting my money on restaurant food. They get a 100% approval rating for atmosphere, taste, and service! Who knew such a gem was waiting on an out of the blue Louisiana adventure!?

Several people suggested Spirits Food & Friends, so I decided to stop in. The food overall was good, but the service at the bar left something to be desired. The bartenders pretty much neglected me the entire time. While I don’t mind being left alone while eating sometimes, a little attentiveness would’ve been appreciated.
For food, I started with the deviled eggs, which were exactly what I expected—classic in flavor, though the sauce presentation was a bit messy. Next, I had the New Orleans BBQ shrimp with grits. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and flavorful, but the grits seemed slightly overdone and the plate had so much sauce it looked more like soup than a balanced dish. Still, the flavors were there, and the portion was filling (though I wish there had been more grits).
For drinks, I tried an old fashioned, which unfortunately wasn’t great. Personally, I don’t think fruit should be muddled into an old fashioned—it overpowers the whiskey, which is the whole point of the cocktail.
Overall, my experience was decent, and I can see why this spot is highly recommended by locals—but some refinement in service and balance of flavors would go a long way

Spirits “new” location, relatively speaking is beautiful and inside is well appointed. There is adequate parking with easy access from Jackson Street. My review may not be totally great if I compare it to New Orleans restaurants I grew up with, so I’ll just be honest and fair. Even though takeout is available, it is recommended that in order to get the full social experience, eat in. Spirits has a nice “dating” environment. And can be a pleasant social evening out for families and friends. The atmosphere is good. Service is generally competent and friendly. The menu is varied, large enough, and can be adventurous. As a personal note, I’m happy I am not a steak eater. Market prices can vary into the upper stratosphere. This is not fast food with fast food prices. However, it is worth the experience for a nice pseudo-gourmet event. Recommended.

I cannot say enough great things about Spirits and their amazing staff! Traveling with a school group of 34 teens & a few parents is not easy, but Spirits made it soooo much easier. Their General Manager, Hannah, worked with me to create a pre-fixed menu for our group that included a variety of items, accommodated vegetarians, and stayed within our budget. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a kind hostess, who seated us immediately. Their Catering Manager, Ms. Jackie, and her support staff did an amazing job of quickly serving drinks and the delicious items we had preordered. Hannah and her kitchen staff had hot, beautiful plates ready to serve upon our arrival – a HUGE bonus, as we still have a 3-hour drive ahead of us! The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting and our parents and students all commented on how awesome this experience was from start to finish. Upon meeting the gracious proprietors, it was clear where this team gets their passion for great hospitality. We will be back!

I had an awesome experience here! I placed a pickup order, and the process was super efficient and easy. I got the creamy crawfish redfish (three orders!), two orders of curly Q fries, and two mac and cheeses. Everything was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The staff was super friendly, too. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

I have been here several times. I come to Alexandria for work at least twice a month and always eat here. Service is 10/10 EVERY time. Tonight the food was ROUGH. I got the tuna poke Togo and I threw it away. Tuna does not get the “cooked” edges from sitting in the sauce for the 10 minutes from when it was ready in the kitchen to when I arrived to my hotel room to smash it. It smelled like feet also. Ponzu sauce is typically acidic and sweet; this tasted straight up like oyster sauce + soy sauce almost the total opposite. Definitely need jalapeno to add some flavor. The wonton chips tasted like old oil as well. Super disappointed in this place.
Update: opened the other half of my food up. Didn’t realize the twice baked potato would be 1/2 a potato served with no sour cream or ranch. So again extremely disappointed in the quality and this time the quantity of food.

Chicken dish was so good. Fried beans were so good. And finally peach cobbler was amazingly. Service was fast and waitress was friendly. Place is spacious with cute decorations and cozy vibes. Will come back to try different stuff. I wish they have more chicken options in the menu.
