If you are thinking of eating here, definitely do it. This is one of the best spots in Chinatown that is worth the hype. I can only speak to the Big Tray Chicken (with extra wide noodles) + dumplings; the former is a unique dish not to be found elsewhere, while the second are the best dumplings I have had at a sit-down restaurant.
Service is very quick and friendly.
There may be a line, but turnover is quick – do not let is scare you off!

Been wanting to come here for years and it did not disappoint. Food was delicious and surprisingly cheap. I had the beef pancake and spicy chicken huimei (dry hand-pulled noodle). The staff were very nice and accommodating too. Highly recommend.

I finally tried Spicy Village after spending loads of time in the area. I’ve been thinking about it ever since. The food lives up to the name – very well spiced. I got the vegetarian dry noodle (fully vegan), and I was blown away, and the portions are huge! You will wait a long time for your food if you order takeout at peak times, but it is worth it.

The Spicy Lamb Hui Mei featured wide, chewy noodles coated in a fragrant, spicy sauce that was satisfying and comforting. Dry black bean with pork noodles tasted so much better with chilli oil, the beef noodle soups tasted too kelpy at first but it grew on me and it feels good for your soul and health. Get the spice scallion sauce pork dumplings!! 10/10. Ordered these as a starter and then the lamb hui mei and the beef brisket hui mei for our mains. Decent noodle dishes but nothing to write home about. The diners seated beside us ordered the big plate chicken, and I will definitely be trying this next time. Small place with very little seating, but we were able to get a spot right away. Popular spot for all types of people.

I have come here perhaps 3 times in the last ten years and this place is unbeatable in terms of price, quality, and taste. They have their chili oil on the side. I ordered a humei with soup in the summer and I think the soup was a mistake. Next time I will get the dry noodles.

The beef brisket hui mei was incredible! Thick, fresh noodles. I took it to-go and ate it about 30-45 minutes later and it was still warm!
