Just off pike place, we stumbled upon this place when walking back to the main road. We came in, no greeting from the guy at the counter, asked if we could get a table, seated ourselves, were given paper menus and then waited 5 mins, was clear no one was coming to take our order so we went up to order ourselves. If you are going to be a restaurant as well, you need to wait on customers, unless specified differently somewhere. The food was very cheap for somewhere in a prime location but the drink, they wanted $9 for a 330ml of Indian beer. That’s excessive!

For my first time eating Indian food this place was amazing! Customer service was great. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and really filling, I had leftovers both times I ordered. I would recommend it so much the spices, the taste, everything was incredible. Will definitely be returning soon.

Spice King is an Indian style restaurant right outside of Pike Place area. It’s a hole in the wall, in all the good ways. It’s probably got a dozen tables inside, service is quick and friendly but food is cooked to order. Portion sizes are great for the price, especially the lunch specials they offer. So many options to choose from, but if you go with a group, order it all to share and try everything. Tikka, vindaloo, patya, and more are all great choices. Don’t forget the naan!

How does this place have a 4.1 rating? I detoured here because Nirmal was closed. Only person in place. Service was awful, never brought a water or my chai until a good 10 minutes after my food drop. Ordered the chicken tikka masala. Little rice served, and the meat was clearly all dark meat. It was sketch. When I asked if it was white meat she initially said yes. Then, I said it’s not and chicken tikka should be white meat, that’s the definition. Then, she pivoted and said oh no, chicken tikka masala is dark meat. I’ve eaten a 1000 Indian restaurants across the country, this is simply not the case. Chicken was awful, chai tasted like hot dishwater, when I asked for water she just poured water straight out of tap with no ice and didn’t even ask. Service, food, and know how of Indian food was just abominable. I wasn’t the only one, someone came in w a to go bag and was demanding a refund. They refused, and she just thre it in the trash right in front of them. Stay away.

Needed something to eat while waiting for the bus. It was a Saturday and there were tourists mobbing all the places. The spice King was a saving grace. Only a couple people eating. It is far enough from the market and 1/2 a block from my bus stop! The lovely woman took my order and made me a veggies samosa fresh – not reheated. It was tasty and kept me from losing my grip during a 7 hour transportation saga.

Awesome spot for Indian food! Their family special is generous and affordable. Dine in atmosphere was average but lots of people order takeout and delivery.

I ordered takeout online for lunch and it was ready on time and still piping hot! The garlic naan was thick and chewy, which is how I like it. The paneer tikka masala was super flavorful, the tomato flavor was divine and I love the thick chunks of bell pepper. Rice was aromatic and well cooked. I love this place, and one order is definitely good for two people or leftover lunch for day 2. Definitely coming back.
