This was our first time at Southern Comfort. Our service was absolutely wonderful. Nevaeh, was informative and clearly knowledgeable about the menu. She provided feedback and food recommendations. We ordered the catfish bites and crab balls for appetizers. Also ordered fries to go with them. The catfish bites?! Absolutely amazing and fried to perfection. Fish was still glistening as you bit into them. The crab balls were my least favorite and probably the worst I’ve ever had. One of the balls had a smell of ammonia as if they were going bad. To be on the “peninsula” I was disappointed that they were just claw meat. I understanding saving money but the crab balls could’ve been mixed with lump crab and claw. They were also very doughy as if they were pumped with breading in the claw meat mix then fried. For our entrees, we ordered the wing dinner with Mac n’ Cheese and yams for the sides. It also came with cornbread. Plus we had the fried chicken sandwich. Chicken sandwich was nicely breaded and fried. It’s very good. The chicken wings were juicy but lacked flavor. Seemed to just be seasoned with salt and pepper. I will not order those again. The macaroni and cheese was cheesy but also lacked flavor. The yams were delicious! For fun we ordered some lamp chops and it was the smallest chops of my life. Overall, I will be back because it was a chill spot and the service was great. I’d try other menu items though.

She met us with a warm smile and was so inviting; she truly made us feel like family. My wife asked for her suggestions, and Mia was spot on with every recommendation she gave. We started with the catfish bites, and they were easily some of the best we’ve ever had, perfectly seasoned and cooked to a golden crisp. For the mains, the turkey meatloaf, and collard greens were packed with flavor, the mac & cheese was absolute perfection. You can tell they take pride in their seasoning because nothing was bland. I wasn’t disappointed by a single bite. Honestly, I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on this menu. Whether you’re looking for a cozy date night spot or a new go-to for brunch, this is the place. Highly recommend!

Three of us had lunch today and were very impressed! Out server Destiny was so friendly and took care of us extremely well. We got a veggie plate, smothered pork chops and fried chicken. Everything was fresh, hot and homemade. The restaurant is so cute with hand painted murals on the walls and everything was very clean. We can’t wait to visit again!

I was in Hampton for the weekend and wanted to eat somewhere different but still eat soul food. I found this gem. When I walked in it was awkward as there is no hostess stand so you are looking for some eye contact from someone who works there so you can know if you seat yourself or wait. I found that eye contact and was told I could sit anywhere. After that it did take longer than it should for someone to come take my drink order which was ok since I only ordered a water. Now when it came time to take my food order that took about 10 minutes which is much to long in my opinion. The food came out and it was hot and fresh and really good. The price was reasonable. I ended up ordering a to go plate for my mom as well. If I’m in the area I would go back.

Southern Comfort was such a good lunch spot! The food was amazing, the ribs and the turkey wings were straight tender and absolutely delicious. Every bite was perfect. The drinks? 10/10, no exaggeration.

The space lacks aesthetic appeal and feels neglected, which unfortunately makes it difficult to fully enjoy the meal. Simple updates such as better lighting, cleaner presentation, or thoughtful décor could make a huge difference.

I’m traveling in Hampton, Virginia, from Los Angeles, Ca. and looking for some good soul food to eat and I ran across this place. Everything was perfect.Catfish was crispy, juicy and inside & fried to perfection, collard greens did need no help at all.They were velvety and soft and melted in your mouth.The yams are just right, not too sweet, not full of sugar and cinnamon.And the cornbread was delicious as well. I was also able to looks at the Sunday night NFL game between Washington and Denver. Atmosphere was chill
