While in town visiting and had no idea where to grab some real soul food and we stumbled upon this spot as it was close to our hotel. I absolutely will dine here again!!!! Our food was delicious and the employees were very pleasant. I had the catfish nuggets, okra & fried corn…delicious!!!! My friend had the baked chicken, baked macaroni & cheese & collard greens…delicious!!! I tasted his Mac n cheese and had to order me a side, frfr, talk about cheesy!!!

After a long day of baking, I had to go to Dunwoody for a business matter. Since I’m rarely in the area, I thought I’d grab a bite to eat! I live in Lawrenceville and decided to stop at this place. Unfortunately, this is definitely not soul food; I apologize, but I am a southern cook. The pork chops were smothered, but it was really just pork chops with canned gravy slathered on top! The black-eyed peas were plain and lacked seasoning. The plate tasted as bad as it looked. Personally, I wouldn’t serve it up like that. The guy at the front kept touching his beard and had no personality whatsoever! I’m sure he means well, but in a business, you need to know who fits certain roles and keep them there. One positive was the young man with dreads; he had a fantastic personality and understood that even with poor food quality, good customer service can win you over! Not to mention, my mom ordered the BBQ chicken, and they were enormous, almost like they were pumped with steroids!! The first picture is the beginning the last picture I trashed it! $50

One of my favorite soul food restaurants. I always come here by myself to just listen to music, eat and draw. The staff is always respectful and the place is beyond peaceful. I’ve never had an issue. The shrimp plate is really great and I just always enjoy my experience here.

I was in the area and decided to buy us some lunch. The atmosphere was vibing, good music, the people dining in seem as if they were having a very good time. The staff was friendly and very polite. We had smothered pork chops and the catfish fingers dinner. Which was very good, seasoned well and cooked perfectly. The Mac and Cheese was okay, the greens were great. We were not really impressed with the dressing seemed sweet but that could be just preference. The only thing I really didn’t care for were the yams. I thought the cinnamon was over powering sort of tasted a bit like pumpkin pie. Other than that it was a nice find for us.

Let me first start off by saying this is a hidden secret in Roswell that I knew nothing about. My daughter’s friend referred her to this place, so we decided to check it out, and I’m glad we did. When we first walked in, we were greeted by young lady by the name of YaYa She explained everything to us in regards to the daily specials, and if we wanted to order something besides the daily special.
My oldest daughter ordered the fried flounder with green beans and mac & cheese and it comes with a cornbread muffin. If we had to rate the meal, she would rate the meal 8.5 out of 10 only because she wasn’t a fan of the green beans.
My youngest daughter ordered the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and mac & cheese. She said her meal was amazing. It was delicious. She gave it a 10 out of 10.
My grandson had the kids meal which was chicken tenders,, mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes. He normally doesn’t eat all his food. he ate a good portion of his food, and said it was really good so we would say he gave it at least a 9 out of 10.
I ordered the pork chop meal. It came with two pork chops. One was smothered the other one was just fried with mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, collard greens, and mac and cheese. I would rate my food at 10 out of 10 it was amazing. It had just a right amount of seasoning, the pork chop was crispy and tender on the inside, and it was not dry.
They have a lunch special Wednesday through Friday from 12 noon to 3 PM which comes with one meat and two sides and a drink for 12.99 plus Tax
If you choose not to get the lunch special, the additional meals they run, maybe about round 17.99 plus tax
So that would be the pork chop that I got today, which was two pork chops, two sides, and a soft drink and a corn muffin and it was 17.99 plus tax and I paid for two additional sides. The additional sides are five dollars apiece.
That may seem high to you, but it was definitely worth it. I still have food left over that. I will be eating later today.
You pay for what you get and at this establishment it was worth every penny that I spent. I can’t wait to go back again.

Service was great. A lot of the meats are made to order. I went for lunch and ordered the smothered Pork chops with white rice, cabbage and mac and cheese. I really like the pork chops and cabbage. The rice was hard and I didn’t really care for the Mac and cheese. I went back for dinner and ordered the pork chops again with just rice and cabbage. The rice was cooked perfectly and I still had no complaints about the cabbage and pork chops. I also ordered the BBQ jerk ribs with collard greens and yams for my husband and he enjoyed them. The meals also come with cornmuffins but with both of my visits they were hard and small for the large portions of food given.

My first visit amazing the young lady who took our order was awesome. Today I drove from Hapeville, Ga by the airport for another round. The dude at the front with the locks / dreads did not greet me & my wife, his energy made us loose our appetite which we did not want that type of energy around our food. We asked about a item (the banana pudding) we had & loved on our first visit & he act like it was an issue with me asking him a question about the food & service. He act like he did not want to be at work.

I read the reviews and was so excited to try this food. I ordered a veggie plate (greens, Mac, yams and rice) and was wasn’t impressed at all. Looking at the plate, it looks bland. Maybe I got them on a bad day. The Mac and cheese was the best tasting item.

My fiance is picky when it comes to soul food and we both loved it! The price was just right for the food/quality we received. Fried shrimp has a lot of crispy batter. Salisbury steak was tasty. Fried okra was crispy and hot. Mac n cheese is on point with the flavor of butter so tasty. Cornbread is just the way we prefer it (it is not Jiffy box by any means) and the seasoning was good. Meal combo was filling but didnt leave you feeling weighed down. We will be back. Putting this in our regular rotation (and we are somewhat picky about our faves). Thank you for serving Roswell!
