Let me tell you the food is amazing here, I had the all sides meal (Greens, Mac and cheese, black eye peas with rice and Yams) and the sides taste like my granny cooking. I have to say this is the best soul food restaurant in LA I’ve been to hands down. My husband had the catfish dinner and he said the food was amazing. I will definitely visit again, I highly recommend this restaurant food was so good.

I definitely enjoyed some of the food more than the other. What stood out to me were the fried broccoli with the house made ranch. I could eat broccoli this way every day. The chicken wings were juicy and fried perfectly. I liked the original ones and the mango habanero the most. I was a fan of the oxtail fries. Very rich and savory. The oxtail was tender and melted in your mouth. I definitely enjoyed the Mac n cheese and candy yams as well. Their kool aid was fresh and unique. The service is incredible, the staff makes sure to bring out the menu and come get your order quickly. They are very organized and come to check if you need anything. The owner is down to earth and is making sure everyone is on top of their game. It’s a whole vibe inside and it’s located in the heart of Inglewood. The music in the background playing is great while you feasting on some soul food done with pride.

It was the 1st time there the ambience was pretty good a steady crowd they are just not prepared for a big group The place is small but clean our waitress it wasn’t good it was only 2 of them on duty and we were a group of 9 She did her best the kitchen was not prepared for a big group. I had the the sister lee Which consist of pancakes, eggs, potatoes. I didn’t want bacon or potatoes so I was able to switch that for chicken wings and grits. One of my aunts had a omelet she liked it another aunt ordered salmon croquette potatoes she didn’t like the salmon Crockett and red velvet waffles, they were good the drizzle cream was a little too sweet, the potatoes didn’t have seasoning my other aunt wanted catfish they did not have catfish so she ended up waiting forever for a chicken wing breakfast 2 of my cousins ordered oxtails and they had to wait about 20 minutes for that. I’m not the cousin had there cheeseburger he said it was good the fries were cold the waitress did bring us a new batch that was hot, I might be back Only because the waitress was nice enough to let us use our 2 check in voucher for checking in on Yelp for $5 off

I’ve been wanting to come here to see what the long lines are waiting for. It was about 3 pm and I was greeted outside by the security guard. Inside is nicely designed with a large t.v on the wall. The music is on point! Sung almost all the songs that came through the speakers. So now let’s get down to the 3 stars on the food. I ordered the fried chicken dinner with yams, green beans, and cornbread. Upon ordering I was told everything I couldn’t order and one of the main reasons for my visit was for the waffles they were out. The CHICKEN was very salty to my liking as well as the green beans. Yams had too much cinnamon and seemed to be from a can. Not knocking can yams their good when prepared properly.

I liked the ambiance. The decor was quaint and welcoming and nicely decorated. I liked the reclaimed wood throughout and the choice of music playing for patrons to enjoy.

While on vacation in California I was on my way to another restaurant when I came across this place. The service was welcoming. Food was ok. I had the fish which did not have much season. Red beans and rice and green beans which was over seasoned with mainly salt. My friend thought her food was just ok as well. Thanks for the welcoming hospitality.

The food is so good and NOT greasy/oily! Everything is well seasoned. I didn’t need to add ketchup and pepper to the potatoes nor on the eggs, and I didn’t even use syrup for the french toast! I ate everything as is. Hats off to the chef in Inglewood!!

The food was great. The red velvet waffles and fried chicken are to die for. The Kool-aid was great also. The staff was very friendly and the environment was very welcoming. The only downside it takes a long time for your food to come out. I will definitely continue to frequent the establishment because I like the food regardless of the wait time

I ordered the shrimp and grits, the loaded breakfast potatoes and the catfish breakfast. Okay I gave 1 start because the potatoes were edible. I paid 20 bucks for each the catfish and the grits. The grits were soup, no texture, very salty and didn’t hold well at all. The shrimp were fine but I ordered it together and couldn’t eat the grits. Both orders of grits were watery and salty, the 20 dollar shrimp and grits was smaller than the size of my palm. Waste and inflated prices for mediocre food. The catfish breakfast was 1 ONE small piece of catfish, had decent seasoning but so small and the eggs and grits for that meal were supposed to be with cheese ( no option for american) a little sprinkle of shredded cheese. We eat all over the country and we love to try new places especially owned by POC and this was a 100% let down. The loaded potatoes were fine saved the whole breakfast but never again.
