Sorelle offers beautiful and delicious Italian cuisine in the historic downtown district of Charleston. They did an amazing job with the renovation of this building. It looks absolutely gorgeous inside.

As all the reviews I read before my visit have said the atmosphere is amazing, the friendliness of the staff members was great. The bar staff were engaging. Unfortunately with the exception of dessert the rest of the food was not great and way overpriced! The dessert of 24k gold olive oil was fantastic! The swordfish was crusted in something that didn’t fare well with the fish itself. Most swordfish lovers understand all you need is some salt, pepper and lemon juice to grill it to perfection. It felt like they tried to fry it and the fish was soggy at best. The potato’s would have been great but they were overcooked. Overall if you are walking by stop in for a drink at the bar and hop right to dessert. It was highly overpriced and over anticipated! I seriously wouldn’t make a reservation let alone one 60 days ahead of time! This is a hard pass for me.

I recently dined at Sorelle restaurant in Charleston and have mixed feelings about my experience. The atmosphere was pleasant, creating a nice ambiance for the evening. However, there were some significant drawbacks that affected my overall enjoyment.

Walked in on the day I got engaged. Asked for a table, they said one hour wait, we told the hostess we had gotten engaged that day. They quickly got us a lovely table on the balcony on the second floor by the kitchen area. The whole experience was fantastic. I had the sword fish and honestly it was the best fish I ever had in my life, the sauce was so delicious. We had the rainbow cookies for dessert and it was so fresh! The whole experience was just fantastic. Super recommend!!

Finally, an amazing Italian restaurant that is worthy of the Charleston culinary scene. And everything about the restaurant is inspired by a truly European experience. We lucked out and got a table in the bar area before the dinner rush. It was absolutely amazing! We shared several dishes and each one was excellent. We will be going back as often as we can.

Had a great meal, atmosphere is lively and fun. Had the pleasure of meeting the AGM, John. He was absolutely incredible, passionate and attentive to our table. Some dishes missed but I will say the Sausage and peppers with broccoli rabe is a must have along with the Black Sea bass and pork chop. Last but not least the bar is beautiful downstairs. Haven’t had the opportunity to try the Mercado yet but looking forward to trying it

We were blown away by our first visit to Sorelle last night and loved our experience dining at the Chef’s table! The food was amazing but the service really set it apart from other restaurants. The arancini was better than what we tried in Sicily and tasted exactly like the Cacio e Pepe I had in Rome. Everything was wonderful, but standouts were Swordfish, Fazzoletti, and Zucchini Parmigiana. We are definitely returning to Sorelle! (We forgot to take more photos because everything looked so delicious!)

Very very good. Great ambiance. One can actually hear the other people at their table. Excellent service. Attentive management too. The appetizers are very generous portions and delicious. I had the sausage which if you’re salt sensitive comes with a tapenade you may want to go lightly on. My wife had the artichoke which is a full artichoke cut in half. Tasty. She had the chicken which is often the “cheap simple” dish. Not so fast. It is brined which provides a perfectly cooked consistency and it’s covered in a berry compote. I had the swordfish. Tasty, perfectly cooked, and large portion. Finished off with lemon cheese cake with lemon sorbet on top with blackberry sauce. A friend had the lemone. It was tart and sweet. Finally, the coffee is intense and the valet is complimentary!

Worth it!!! Had the Arancini, Amatriciana, and the Bisteca Alla Fiorentina. All were absolutely amazing! The Arancini had a Cacio e Pepe twist that they pulled off very well. The Amatriciana, a dish that I am personally very familiar with and have made many times as well was the best I have ever had, the kitchen did some sort of magic with this! The Bisteca was well worth the price was out of this world, wonderful sauces and even better than the one one we had on our honeymoon— in a high end resort in Tuscany!!! By far the best Italian I have been to, and that includes many I would put well in the 5* territory. Service was also very top tier, extremely friendly and professional! Highly recommend !
