Delicious pasta and entrees. We loved all of the food we had. The ravioli had so much flavor and the white wine sauce was delicious. Chicken parm was simply done right with deep flavor and comforting tastes. My mojito was great too. Vibes are definitely better on the outdoor patio than the indoor area which is nothing spectacular. Service was absolutely lovely. We’ll be back!

Sophia’s Grotto on the patio during a summer night is one of the best parts of living in and around Roslindale. The service is always great and personable. The food is always spectacular (I love their paella). Great place for a date or girls night. Looking forward to my next visit here!

We visited the restaurant for our 4th visit for a wedding celebration with friends and family. We were greatly disappointed by the experience. The food was the worst tasting food we had had in Boston and took over an hour to be brought out. It gave one of our members food poisoning as well. The service was also non existence with the waitress never checking in on us the entire time. We were shocked by how bad everything was as we had had such a good experience 2 years before. I’m not sure what changed but given how bad it was, we and our friends and family will not be going back.

We must’ve ordered all of the wrong food when we came because everyone raves about this place we were so excited to go! the calamari was the worst I’ve ever had—so rubbery, borderline inedible. The staff were amazing and the patio was lovely! The atmosphere was great, but the dinner was very mediocre so we were very disappointed.

1st time @ Sophia’s Grotto. The ambiance of the establishment is very intimate and small. Low dim light setting. The food was well seasoned & tasty.

Its a really nice hidden/ hole in the wall, with awesome decor and ambient. The service usually better than my last visit.

The sauces at this restaurant are actually magnificent. However, all of the meat in our meals was incredibly dry and when dessert came around there were plastic chips in the tiramisu

The food was outstanding!!!!!!! I ordered the Sirloin steak, and it was awesome! The place is very hidden in a alley. The inside is small, but it wasn’t crowded at all. I accidentally ate some of the steak before I took a photo .

This place is a whole vibe even during the day. The food was what you would expect from a pricey North End place, but somehow better and not as expensive. Do yourself a favor and get the pesto! My server was great and checked in with us a perfect amount of times. The atmosphere very much gives grotto with exposed brick and lighting.

What a wonderful dining experience in the Roslindale neighborhood. Hidden in a cute alley, this is a charming Italian restaurant that is sure to please. We sat outside under heat lamps on a chilly night, and were very comfortable. The staff was prompt, attentive and very efficient. Most importantly the food was outstanding. We loved the crostini apps, and the various pasta entrees and specials. Everything was cooked to perfection- which made for a great evening!
