Our waitress was Martha and for the most part she was fine. It took three attempts for her to bring me my soda since she kept forgetting. I got the shrimp ceviche, chicken wings and my wife got the chicken mole. Her brother got the carne asada burrito. The food was okay but the service was slow here.
The service is above and beyond from the time we walked in the door. Make sure you get the table side guacamole it is wonderful.
Margaritas are superb, not some cheap tequila. Did I mention the size of the lime slice? Huge.
Our table had a selection of menu items drinks through desert.
We were throughly happy with our experience, with the exception of walking to the parking lot in the rain. When does it rain in LA? Apparently today.
Great ambiance, good music volume, good service, GOOD HORCHATA! lol.
Chile relleno burrito came in:
1. Wet (I didn’t ask wether it was wet or not but it’s ok)
2. Melted Mozzarella on top, good size chile relleno inside, it still had the top stem, pieces of avocado inside and loaded with beans (I got black beans)
3. The server was polite and excellent with his timing checking in
4. Parking is valet only or you can park in the street, parking can be a problem front busy hours
5. Total price without tip $21.68
All in all good experience but the chile relleno still lacked flavor, I’m thinking if they added a little more flavor to the sauce this would be a perfect burrito and visit. Also, they give you delicious chips and salsa. You get a very good amount of chips and you get a red Molcajete salsa and a green one, I enjoyed the red one the most.
Unfortunately, the service at the bar took away from the experience. The bartender was not friendly at all—no smile, no effort to be welcoming. What made it worse was that he was clearly chatting and laughing with the people sitting next to us, who seemed like regulars.
I also witnessed a situation where a customer sent a drink back through a waiter. The bartender responded very rudely and refused to remake the drink. He said he would not change it and instead talked about just switching the glass or adding ice. The waiter allowed this to happen, which honestly is not okay for a restaurant. If a customer isn’t happy with a drink, it should be remade without attitude.
The food and drinks were solid, but the lack of professionalism and rude behavior at the bar really stood out and needs to be addressed.
