I ordered three appetizers: calamari, fried tofu, and pork belly; and two main dishes: basil fried rice and Pad See Ew. Everything was absolutely delicious. The pork belly and their main dishes are always my go-to choices whenever I come here. I live two hours away, but every time I’m in San Diego, despite having so many restaurant options, I still choose to come back to this place. The waitress and the service are always wonderful as well. I even forgot to take pictures of the main dishes because I was so hungry and they tasted so good! The thai tea is also boom. Highly recommend.

Excellent Place in SD downtown.
Loved the options. The noodle soup was really tasty and flavorful, had ordered one of their specials. We had ordered crispy tofu for appetizers too.

Big GRACIAS, Maya and team on my first visit to Soi 30 Tuesday, 21 October at 6PM.
Pad Thai shrimp and Somtom salad were fabulous. Only caution was that “medium” spicy order was more like 7/8 out of 10. Still delicious, but will order mild next visit.
Enjoyed a Singha, thanks to Maya’s reading my mind, while I waited for take-out order. CHEERS!

Unless you want to ruin all other Thai cuisine for your taste buds, don’t go here. This was the best Thai food I have ever had, and I will be chasing that high for a long time, as I don’t live in San Diego.
The restaurant is a bit unassuming in appearance, but don’t let that fool you. The patio seating is great for the people watching and cool breeze. Their menu is available online as well as hard copies in the restaurant.
We sat down and our waitress was fast and friendly with a genuine smile. We started off with the curry puffs which were a flaky puff pastry fried with yellow curry potatoes inside. The curry was mild, complementing the pastry without overpowering it.
For entrée, my wife went with the chicken pad Thai, ordered as “mild” in the heat department. It was the correct amount of heat. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the balance of the dish was perfect. Sometimes pad Thai can be greasy, and this was perfect.
And now for the star of the show: Khao Soi. If the perfect dream was manifest as reality, it would be this dish. I went with the shrimp as the protein and this is the way. Every single bite was the taste of creamy coconut, unique curry which can only be described as perfection. I savored every bite and mourned when the meal was over. Days later I’m still thinking of this meal. Please, do yourself a favor and patronize these fine people and reward your taste buds.

Yum! Stopped here for lunch on a Friday around 1:00pm and it was pretty empty with only a couple other people inside. I recommended finding street parking in the nearby neighborhoods rather than using the pay-to-park lots. Saves a couple bucks and is only a couple blocks walk. Ordered the Pad See Ew with pork belly and really enjoyed it. Was it the best Pad See Ew I’ve ever had? No, but it was very good. Our waitress offered “mild, medium, or hot” spice level and I ordered medium. It was quite spicy but not too much. If you just want a tiny kick, I’d go with mild. The portion was large and I took my leftovers home which were great reheated too. There was plenty of seating in the restaurant but it was a little muggy and humid inside, even with the fans on. Our waitress was very kind and we enjoyed our time at Soi 30th!

Loved the recommendations from our server last night. The Pla Fish platter and the curry soup was so delicious. The only thing is the space is tight outside. I know my next door neighbors could hear our whole conversation. Other than that it was wonderful. Will be coming back definitely !!

Cute neighborhood thai restaurant hidden in North Park. It may look like a hole in the wall, but don’t be deceived. It is so delicious! Decently priced and fresh ingredients. My girl friend and I had a girls name since we were craving curry.
It was so worth it. Since its limited menu, you know the menu was delicious since the focus is on the food. Would come again!
Great for vegetarians!

It’s hard to argue that noodles with salt, fat, acid, and heat aren’t good, because with that combo anything will be good. Even though they were good, they were maybe over soaked (especially for the pad Thai) so I felt a little salted and greasy after, and the pad see ew was a little flavorless. It was fast and filling so I’ll probably order again.

Smallish restaurant serving very good Thai food at reasonable prices. Service is excellent.
Pla Pat Cha (lightly breaded fish fillet stir fried with eggplant bell peppers, peppercorns, and onions) has lots of flavors. Somtom Thai (Papaya salad with 2 shrimps) had very fresh shrimps. Morning Glory stir fried with tofu was garlicky and delicious.

I love Thai food a lot and have been disappointed by other north park spots. Soi 30th is different! The curry puffs are the best I’ve ever had seriously. Everything else I’ve tried on the menu has been reliable and consistent. I love the pad Thai and the green curry especially as well.
