We had a burger and ribs. My husband loved his burger. He said his brisket was very decent. My ribs were cooked perfectly with a sweet stickiness that I like. They have a black pepper Dorothy lynch type of flavor that was unique. Great customer service and great sides! Good date spot or for the entire family. We’ll likely be back.

Went to Jay’s after a few games at chop’s next door. My feet slowly changed direction from my car to Jay’s front door. The inside looked like a classic BBQ joint, checkered table cloths and large display menu. When it was my turn to order I asked the lady at the register her favorite thing, “fries”… I asked what she thought of the brisket and she said “I don’t know. I’ve never had it.” So not much help when it came to ordering but I don’t hold that against them. I ordered a brisket sandwiches, all sandwiches come with one side. For that side I picked out the smoked Mac and cheese, can’t say I’ve ever seen Mac that color when i opened the container. I know the smoke probably plays a roll in how Mac and cheese can end up with a brown tint. I also ordered one of “jay’s specials”, Honey fried corn bread. And a cold Miller lite to drink while waiting for my to-go order. Overall impressions, a great spot I plan to return too soon to try more of the menu.

Really tasty feather bones fried potatoes and fried corn bread.$16.80 Al cart 1/13/26 every thing beyond is extra. I think there should have been more food for what I paid. But I was constantly licking my fingers. Check it out.

The best part about this place was the gentleman that took our order at the counter. He was kind and helpful while we were placing our order. I would consider this place to be a dive BBQ joint, so I was hoping that the food would have been great. It unfortunately didn’t live up to expectations. The pork was dry. The onion rings were bland and needed a little more salt. They charge for refills on drinks even though the drink prices are already near industry standard.
Parking and seating is a little limited here.

This is your typical small family BBQ joint. The food was good and the service was good. Pricing was fair. It’s a bit out of the way if your staying in downtown Omaha but it’s worth an Uber ride. If I ever find myself in Omaha again I would eat here.

When I am in a new place I love to check out the local BBQ scene. I found this place by doing an internets search it was rated 4.1. Pulled up the parking lot and the place looked a little worn. That is not a turn off for me as some the best BBQ I have eaten came from places that looked much worse than this.
The interior was decorated like I would have expected a real bbq place to look as so a little worn. The young man who took my order seemed like his first day as he appeared lost and struggled with taking our order.
Let’s move on to the food I had a brisket sandwich combo. For my side I chose coleslaw. For my taste I like places that keep their side simple. It’s so much easier to do things well when you keep them simple. The slaw is mayo based simple and very tasty. My sandwich while good it was not the best brisket sandwich. It was chopped and had lots of bark included in the mix. This gave it a some what bitter taste. It was also a little on the tough side and somewhat dry like it has been sitting in a ste table for a while. Pickle should have game with a warning that they were well seasoned. They will catch you by surprise.
I rate meal a three because to me it was middle of the road food. Now there is a possibility that ordered the wrong meat maybe they do better pork than beef. I will have to try their pork next time to see if that was the case.

This was my first time coming to this restaurant. I have to say that the owner is great! I am very disappointed in the quality and quantity of the food. He gave me an extra rib because he said the other were small. I liked the Okra and the rib tip(Burnt ends) were ok. I would love to make your Macaroni Cheese and baked beans for you.

Jay took great care of us. We both had the special of the day, mac & cheese loaded with brisket. It was delicious. Jay is friendly and makes sure his customers are taken care of. We would definitely eat here again.
